Happy Hour

CJ slides over the counter to the other side with a determined expression, and starts to fill the specials board with drink recipes:

* Alcoholic *

TEQUILA

- blanco (doubles as pipe cleaner);

- reposado (a kick);

- oro (mix of the two above);

- añejo (the best);

BEER

- Moretti (italian);

- Tsingtao (chinese);

* Non-Alcoholic *

- Soda and juice mixes;

- Fruit punch;



He nods to himself, turning to the Bar at large. "Happy Hour is up, folks. Let's make it deserve the name."

CJ is now Chase's official favourite bartender.

"Pint of Morretti on the tab please man."

"Heya, man. Jes' a sec." A frosted pint glass, rinsed on cold water, and CJ draws the beer with a perfect quarter-inch head. "Here ya go."

Chase sips the beer.

"Ah, still Bound, getting pretty bored. If I didn't have Gert and the others here I'd be going nuts."

"They can not open the door for you? I've brought some people visitin' San Andreas." CJ grabs a bottle of water for himself, taking a sip.

"We're all from the same world bro." Chase says with a shrug. "All in the same boat. Or flying frog."

"All stuck here? Damn..." He shakes head. "I would've gone nuts already if it happened to me. Stuck here and no cars to drive down the interstate at 95 miles?"

"I used to have a van, but we sort of lost it. The 'frog is better though."

"I've lost count of how many cars I have. Including the pieces of shit good only to be tossed off a cliff into the river."

"Do you have Tsingtao Spirulina Green Beer? It's been ages since we had that."

"Not ages. Just twenty years."

"Not literally, no. It just felt like it."

"Yeap." CJ hands the guy a bottle. "Know some people that can't live without dat."

"Thank you, that's delightful." The short man turns to his friend. "And, because I know you're going to ask for something, what do you want?"

"Naturally."

CJ pours a double shot to the big guy, no comment. If he wants to drink rocket fuel, rocket fuel it is.

Vandemar knocks it back in one gulp and holds out the glass for more.

And CJ refills it. Hey, he might not like Oro personally, but is not going to stop a patron from drinking it until his liver detonates.

"'S good. Strong."

"You like everything, Mr. Vandemar."

"You're the one drinking green beer."

"Alright, point. But I'm not the one who was drooling over a baby the other day."

"No, you just like to eat broken glass. And porcelain."

"If you like strong, ya should try blanco." Ladies and gentlemen, meet CJ's poker face. He can be the perfectly barman, showing no reaction to what people say.

Eragon eyes the drinks. And eyes them some more. He really wants a drink. His poor head has been scrambled and messed with terribly. However he has no idea what those drinks are.

CJ to the rescue. "Heya. Have a seat, man."

"Blanco is clear spirit, bottled without aging. It's hard, harsh and burny, good for when you want to black out and don't care about the bad hangover next day."

"Reposado is aged some, still had a hard kick but less than Blanco. Oro is a mix of Blanco and Reposado."

"And Añejo is the good stuff, aged, strong but does not melt your tongue off."

"Um.... " Eragon takes the seat. "The last one please." While he would like to black out, drinking that one would be irresponsible.

"Good choice." CJ picks a shot glass, and pours a shot of good añejo for him.

Like the barman promised, it is strong, but also has flavor and flair. Good strong alcohol. "I'm CJ."

He coughs, not used to the strong drink. "Eragon."

"Nice to meet. Now, what's wrong man, that you feel like you need a strong drink?" Another tradition, speak of your troubles with the barman.

Eragon stares into the glass. And stares at it some more. "It's ... " and he trails off.

"Drink yer añejo, man. Words come easier after two shots." He knows, he did it.
