When the door shows up for Beckett for the second day in a row, it comes as a bit of a surprise to her, but she heads toward the bar without hesitation, hoping to at least get a cup of decaf out of the deal.

Instead of a cup, a napkin appears in front of her. She reads it with a frown.

"Really?"

Another napkin appears. Beckett reads that one, too.

"Alright," she finally agrees, shoulders sagging in surrender, and slides under the bar to set everything up.

"Just so you know, I'm not very good at--" A third napkin appears and interrupts her. "Fine. But you're going to have to help me."

The specials board immediately changes to a list with Bar's handwriting:

HAPPY HOUR

Cop Car
E Pluribus Unum
Holly Golightly

Beer, wine and other mixed drinks available upon request.

Beckett's eyes read over the list and she makes a face.

"Funny."

A fourth napkin appears: this one with just a smiling face drawn on.

He laughed, "I bet."

So, are you in a relationship? No.

Let's not even go there.

"Where did you grow up?"

Mmm. Maybe not the best question to start things off with. She does her best to answer without delving into too many personal details.

"I've been in New York all my life," she admits.

"I moved around a lot, myself," said Daniel.

Having run out of things to inquire in Daniel sipped his coffee. Maybe she would offer something.

"So I'm guessing anthropology sets up a lot of late nights in which one needs bad coffee to stay awake?" Beckett asks.

"Or is there something else that keeps you up?"

"Yeah," said Daniel, "Along with some work I can't talk about. Some of the translations can take a long time."

Daniel would love to tell her all about being part of SG1. Look he's manly!

"Sounds like most of the paperwork I have to do," Beckett admits. "You translate... what? Ancient texts or something?"

"Yeah," said Daniel, "And Alien stuff."

He coughed the last part.

"I'm sorry," Beckett replies, "what did you say?"

"What is your security clearance?" asked Daniel quickly.

Who knows maybe they have an SGC in her world.

"Um, I have a badge?" Beckett answers, and quickly produces it.

"MMM," he mumbled, "Well... I work with some secret stuff. Have you had any strange astronomical phenomenal in your world?"

"Like what," Beckett asks, "things crawling out of meteors and stuff? That's only in the movies, Doctor."

"No, more like large meteor crashes and the like over the Pacific," said Daniel.

"Oh. That doesn't seem so uncommon," Beckett says.

"THese would have been more along the lines of international incodents," said Daniel," Anyway, I am just wondering if I should tell you about it or not. YOu know your world might have the program I work for."

"That could be the case," Beckett answers, toying with a small packet of sugar. "I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of division I wasn't yet aware of."

"Yeah this could be a problem," mumbled Daniel, "What would you say if I told you that Aliens built the pyramids?"

Nervous grin.

"I'd say we should start checking to see if you bumped your head, Doctor," Beckett teases.

"Even after seeing this place?"

Wry smile.

"Maybe it's not so farfetched, then," Beckett says, grinning.

Daniel smiled, "I know this sounds strange, but in my world they were."

"What else is different in your world?"

"I don't know," said Daniel, "I've never been there."

Daniel grinned.

"Never? I'm confused."

"Wait," said Daniel facepalming," I mean I haven't been to your world to know what's different in mine."

Daniel said this all kinds of fast.
