Jean-Luc Picard enters the holodeck doors, decked out in his Dixon Hill outfit, ready to become his favorite detective. When he's dumped into a bar full of patrons that don't all look human or dressed for the era, he's confused, but decides to play along. That's why he'll be found by the fireplace, watching the goings-on with great interest.

Picard nods back politely. "Hello," he offers.

"You seem to have found a good place to watch everything."

Moist understands how useful that is especially when a magic counter apparently knows his real name.

"I like watching things. It's my job," he answers, still thinking like Dixon Hill.

"Ah, mine's not too different though I watch and sometimes do things with what I see. Alfred."

He holds out a hand to shake, Moist has perfected this handshake, eye contact and just firm enough to make him seem a trustworthy man.

"Hello, Alfred. My name's Hill. Dixon Hill. The pleasure is mine."

Picard may be an amateur armchair detective, but he can sense when something's off. 'Alfred' makes him curious.

"Its good to meet you, Mister Hill. Have you been coming here long?"

"This is my first visit," he says. "It's a nice bar, although a bit bigger than I'm used to."

"If you don't look at the Window, yes. Where are you from?"

Moist relaxes, this man seems nice but not as astute as that woman he met.

"San Francisco. What window?"

"The one over there, its apparently the End of the Universe. I'm not sure I believe it or that I want to."

It just seems rather too much to Moist and its also something he doesn't understand.

Picard turns, looks out the Window at the aptly-timed show, and then turns around and starts yelling.

"Q! Why are you on my ship and why have you decided to make a show of ending the universe again?"

Moist almost drops his drink since that was unexpected, "Q?"

"Q is an alien entity from my time who likes to screw around with my people and myself."

Picard doesn't know why he's explaining himself to a holodeck program, but there it is.

"Computer, end program."

Moist looks around, perhaps something was supposed to happen and takes another drink. This is one of those times when playing along makes the most sense.

Picard pauses, watching the Bar keep on keepin' on around him.

"Computer?" he asks the thin air.

"What was meant to happen?"

"The computer was supposed to stop the holodeck program." Picard takes off his hat and stands, looking around.

"I don't think Milliways is going to stop just because you ask it."

If that was possible, Moist would be bargaining with Bar about changing the name on the tab board.

"What is Milliways?"

"The Bar at the Universe apparently. What's a holodeck?"

"A simulated reality room where you can set up different programs for different realities." Picard looks mystified. "You've never heard of one before?"

"No, I can't say that I have. It sounds like something a wizard would create."

"Wizards are only a fairy tale where I'm from."

"Ah, they're rather more trouble where I'm from."

"Magic doesn't exist on my world," he says. "I'm a man of science, and I don't believe in it."
