Jack has been sitting at the bar 'cleaning his gun' cleaning his gun peacefully. After a while, however, a napkin pops up on Bar's surface, and he blinks then grins down at it.

"Of course I can," he tells her. "Where'd you keep the books?"

Ten minutes later, the specials are chalked up on the board and Jack stands ready, stripped down to shirtsleeves and a grin.

"Would he have done what his very impressive title implies?" Jack asks, with deliberation.

"Oh, yes. With great prejudice," Yrael nods. "He'd done it to... six other planets before he was stopped, if I recall correctly."

Which, admittedly, he might not be. It was an extremely long time ago, and he has forgotten much of what happened at the beginning, apart from the general shape of events. Still, six sounds like the right number, considering there's one world left where the Charter still stands.

Jack winces.

"Ouch in that case, yeah it counts. One free extraterrestrial for you!"

Yrael grins. "Finally, having a serious pain for a little brother gets me something better than a serious pain."

Jack raises an eyebrow at him as he uncaps the Midori.

"Ouch. Family drama is really serious for you, then?"

[mogget_cat]

"Tends to be," Yrael's look is wry. "There are far fewer of us than there were, and those of us that are left tend to stick to our own devices, more or less."

Something like that.

"It only tends to erupt into - the term which I feel captures the spirit of things best is 'shit-storm' - when the Ninth is involved."

Jack nods, sympathetic but also interested, sharper than average curiosity.

"Yeah? I've run across a being or two like that in my time."

Slowly, hands perfectly steady, he pours the second layer.

"Messy."

"I figured shit-storms are messy by nature," snorts the not'cat, amused.

"It's over now, that's the main thing."

No, the main thing is the lack of a collar around his neck. He will never not be happy about that.
