Alex wandered in, a small bag of coin in his hand. He headed straight for Bar, and set the bag on her. He patted Bar. "Payment due, and extra, Bar, for Lorna's tab, and mine, split evenly, please." He was feeling rather jovial. Things were going well for Lorna and he, and their adventures in space had gone from cramped and annoying to fun, comfortable, and profitable.
Alex glanced at the tab board to see his and Lorna's tabs rise. With a grin and a deep breath, he settled to a barstool and tapped Bar once more. "Can I have the New York Times, a glass of root beer, and some cobalt blue base lace weight yarn, with a circular size two."
The items appeared and he smiled as he settled in to read, knit, and drink.

He rubbed his face.

She sighed, covering her face with her hands. "I don't want to keep you away from Scott, or make you lie to him. This is just. . . I'm not ready for this at all, and I don't even know if I ought to be freaking out, which is making me more anxious than I already was to begin with."

She felt guilty, and slightly nauseous, though that was probably from the sudden anxiety. God, what a mess. For a moment she wondered if she were just destined to be neurotic forever.

Thank God for that. She relaxed a bit, glad they were done thinking about living on the eventual site of a floating memorial to the loss of so many innocent lives.
"We could base ourselves out of Arizona again? Away from people as much as possible. I don't read as a mutant, and the kid won't for a few years. You'd be obvious, but there's not much we could do about it, and at least you'd have plenty of room to vent your powers."

He chuckled.

A dynamo would take care of their electricity needs. Lorna wouldn't even have to think about it after a couple months of steady production.

She liked people, but they severely tested her patience.

He kissed her, bouncy. "You know, I almost hope you are pregnant now. I'm getting kind of excited about this."

In fact, they should check and see. She was still nervous, but much less so now.

And one popped up. "Thanks, love." he turned to Lorna. "Shall we?"

The last time they'd spent so much time around each other, there had been no pregnancy worries, because there had been no action taken to produce it.

"Let's go up to the room and do it there. We can see the truth, and head out for a walk after, either way." He nodded.

"I would, yes. If you are up for it, since you have to do most of the work. If not, I am fine without having a child. I just feel like... well, I think we're ready, and it would be awesome." He nodded as he walked with her.

She went to the steps, then directed herself and Alex up them with her powers.

"I love you, Lorna Dane."

she kissed him as they flew, stopping delicately once she was inside the room, shutting the door with her powers.
"I guess it's a good thing I was drinking coffee." She laughed a bit, before heading for their bathroom.

He was nervous.
