Happy Hour!

The long day of baking had been cathartic, and Sunshine had needed it. Rae... wasn't thinking about what was going on back home, just yet. Wasn't ready to, so wasn't going to. Not right now. She had just set the tray of still-warm baked good on the bar when she'd received a napkin.

"...Well, all right. You get some sleep," Sunshine says, slipping behind the bar and grabbing one of the drink recipe books.

She's in lime-green jeans and an electric-blue top, though they're mostly covered by the sunflower-dotted apron still tied about her waist. Where her clothes are not effectively covered, they're dusted with flour (how unusual!).

Soon, the Specials Board is up. Some the writing might be a bit cramped, but she'd had to make sure everything fit.

"Happy Hour starts now, denizens of Milliways," Sunshine says, smiling as she snags a gooey, fragrant cinnamon roll for herself. "What will you have?"

"I'm Lily." With a grin, Lily grabs her fork and dives into the dessert.

"Mmm. This is great!"

"Pleased to meet you, Lily," Rae answers. "I'm Sunshine. Glad you like it. It was one of the first recipes I came up with, when I first started experimenting with baking."

"Wow, you actually made all of these?" Lily asks, her gaze roaming over the other baked goods set out.

"Yep," she replies, grinning at the look on the girl's face. "I'm a baker - it's what I do."

"That's cool."

"I think so too," she grins. "All of these are my own recipes. The Chocoholia, Lemon Lechery, Caramel Cataclysm and Bitter Chocolate Death are my own creations, too, along with a lot of others we sell at the coffeehouse where I work. The Cinnamon Rolls are my personal favorite."

It being baker's privilege to snag something when she wants it, she takes a cinnamon roll for herself.

Lily takes another bite of her Chocoholia. Mmmm, delicious.

"So, did you always want to be a baker?"

"Yep," Rae says, grinning as she picks a piece off her cinnamon roll to eat. "One of my first memories is sitting on the kitchen floor with a wooden spoon my mom had let me have, yelling until someone let me stir something."

Soon the blender has finished with the Sunshake, and that too is set in front of the girl (with an sunny-yellow paper umbrella in it).

Lily grins at that. One of her earliest memories is standing in the back yard, waving around a stick and pretending it was her wand.

"Thanks!"

"You're welcome, Lily," she smiles. "So, where're you from?"

Albion, she'd think from the accent. But you can't be sure at Milliways. Apparently different Earths call places different names. So weird.

The girl takes a sip of her Sunshake before answering.

"London. What about you?"

"New Arcadia, for me," she replies, figuring that again, no one would have heard of it.

Lily certainly hasn't. "Where's that at?"

"Near the east coast of Independencia."

"So...Independencia is a country?"

"Mm-hmm," she nods, smiling. "Though I've heard in some worlds it is called America. Like your native Albion might be called England."
