Happy Hour!
The long day of baking had been cathartic, and Sunshine had needed it. Rae... wasn't thinking about what was going on back home, just yet. Wasn't ready to, so wasn't going to. Not right now. She had just set the tray of still-warm baked good on the bar when she'd received a napkin.
"...Well, all right. You get some sleep," Sunshine says, slipping behind the bar and grabbing one of the drink recipe books.
She's in lime-green jeans and an electric-blue top, though they're mostly covered by the sunflower-dotted apron still tied about her waist. Where her clothes are not effectively covered, they're dusted with flour (how unusual!).
Soon, the Specials Board is up. Some the writing might be a bit cramped, but she'd had to make sure everything fit.
Happy Hour Specials!
Tequila Sunrise
Sunburn
Sun of a Beach
Sunset
Non-Alcoholic
Sunshake
AND Sunshine's Fresh Baked Goods
Cinnamon Rolls As Big As Your Head: $2.50
(Extra Icing: $.50)
Bitter Chocolate Death: $2.50
Caramel Cataclysm: $2.25
Lemon Lechery: $2.00
Chocoholia: $2.00
Muffins: $1/ea, $10.00/dozen

"Happy Hour starts now, denizens of Milliways," Sunshine says, smiling as she snags a gooey, fragrant cinnamon roll for herself. "What will you have?"
(ooc: Mun is tired and heading to bed. Post is open for tags forever, though. <3)

Yeah.
No one really expects their globenet protection, antivirus and system repair computer information to walk in and ask for baked goods.
"Sorry," she says, when she's gotten her mind to shuffle this information into the Milliways is Weird section of her brain. "I... well, I've never met a data sprite before, but thank you for all the work you do."

"I mean, it doesn't have to be my world for me to appreciate what you do."
no subject
Darn you, language!
"I'm only a cadet, of course. But I did help save two worlds already, so that's a good start."

She's still got a looooong way to go. It's a big world, after all, and she and Con are only one human and one vampire.
"So you're a cadet? There's a training program or something?"

He swallows a few times to clear his mouth. "Yeah. Guardian Academy."

"What sorts of things do you study there?"

He grimaces. "Um, yeah. This is the downer part of the conversation, sorry. Computer games are kind of deadly to us. If the User wins."

"I don't play games on my combox - just use it for checking up on the news from the globenet. My brothers, though..."
She doesn't know if it would be helpful or horrible to mention how she had gone through and systematically destroyed her brothers' game station games as a teasing deterrent when she was 16. (Her brother Kenny had caught Rae and her then-boyfriend making out, and went around the house for a week afterwards, singing "Big Sissy Kissy-Kissy!" She had just been glad that kissing was all Kenny had walked in on, but felt that she needed to put a stop to that behavior quickly. Her brothers hadn't talked to her for two months, but the tactic had worked.)

"The Games're actually loads of fun, but it's one of my functions to make sure we win against the User, 'cause otherwise..." Yeah. "Would you mind... if you can lend us a computer or a disc or something, we can scan it and see if you have sprites or not."

"My door came in from my bakery - I didn't have anything electronic with me. Sorry."
As canon doesn't mention cell phones, the mun likes to imagine that they don't have them. ^_^

Even just talking to him, she's wanting to know.

"To be honest, though, I'm not sure what we'd do if we did find a world with sprites."
Launch a campaign to abolish video games? That would go down well.

"How would you go in and say hello to the... locals?"
