The door opens, and Urquhart and Moist come in, carrying several bags -- carpet bags, saddle bags, bags of coin, and a bucket of freshly caught fish.

Urquhart is wearing rough leather trousers, a billowy yellow silk shirt, and a huge double headed axe. He's got his arm around Moist, who is grinning like the cat who got not only one canary but a cageful.


Franz is jumping around them, barking cheerfully, happy to be with both his humans, and back in the place he knows best.

They are all in a very good mood.

"Sounds like you picked up swag," comes the rather inane statement from a man with his hood up, sitting at a table with a metal spheroid puzzle, half in pieces.

"Or your dog's just obnoxiously loud."

"Dogs will bark," Urquhart says. "Want a drink?"

He's feeling generous.

"Nah," he says. "You don't sound like my type."

He listens for the sounds around Urquhart, tilting his head; the wet slop and slosh of fish, the metallic clang of coins, and the creaks and rustles of everything else. "Interesting."

"I can buy you a drink without wanting to seduce you," Urquhart chuckles.

He got thoroughly laid not long ago, anyway.

"It was an interesting trip."

"Who said anything about seduction?" he wonders aloud.

"Not your type?" Urquhart says.

"Not the type I usually get a drink out of. Got sex on the brain?"

[scots_wolf]

"You have a type in people you scrounge drinks from?" Urquhart says. "Wow, you are peculiar."

"Not half as much as you, you're the one carrying dead fish. Seriously?"

Moist laughs at Franz's joy, "We're glad to be back too, Franz."

Franz not only wags his tail, he wags his entire bottom and enthusiastically greets the little grey cat who comes to see what the fuss is. The small fluffy animal stands up heroically to the large doggy tongue licking him between the ears.

"I'll put the fish away and organise drinks," Urquhart says. "Make yourselves comfortable, and we'll take up the stuff afterwards?"

"Yes, it won't go anywhere while we're here,"

He finds the comfiest couch and then stacks all the bags around it and leans the axe against the mantle,

"Come here, Franz, the best seat by the fire."

Franz sprawls before the fire, and the little grey cat comes to snuggle between his big paws. Unlike their respective humans, these animals have ended up liking each other.

"I'll just pop in the kitchen and the share the couch and some MacAbre," Urquhart says, walking away.

"Mm, yes. Who's your friend?" Moist offers the little cat a pat.

The little cat gives Moist a thoroughly feline look and puts his grey head on Franz' large white paw.

Hmmmm, comfy. Pity the fish scents just went away.

Both Franz and the cat are given pets before Moist shifts to enjoy more of the fire himself and yawns.

There is a finger, suddenly, tapping Moist on the shoulder.

The Fool spots the two of them coming in together and smiles brightly. He saunters over, just barely using his stick today (though he always has it)

"Urquhart! Nobody! Hello!" He says when he's close enough. "And hello Franz too."

Moist laughs and leans against Urquhart,

"Because of when we met, he considers me Nobody. I haven't decided what I think of it yet."

"That's not a Nobody, that's my friend Alfred," Urquhart says, his arm tightening companionably around Moist's shoulders, "and he has a very nice body, if you must know."

"He said he was Nobody when we met. And Nobody suits him better I think," the Fool says. "And yes, his body is very nice. He talks a lot when drunk too."

He will continue calling Alfred Nobody and nobody can stop him.

"I was very drunk when we met. That was a rare occasion for me,"

Judging him while under the influence of Atlantean isn't terribly fair.

"Oh, that was when he met you," Urquhart says. "Believe me, Fool, he is much more than that."

The Fool leans forward, using his walking stick for support. "Oh everyone is much more than that. But Nobody is even more, because Nobody can do things that somebody can."

There's a bit of word play here, but words are what the Fool is about.

People are more honest when drunk, which is a perfect time to judge him.

Moist considers that and smiles,

"Yes, no one says you have to be only one somebody."
