Tara comes downstairs and goes over to the bar, sitting at one end.
"Could I get a cup of tea with milk and sugar please, sweetness?"
The tea arrives and she sips it, glancing around the bar. She kind of wants to talk to Isabel again, and is torn between wanting to talk to Warren and wanting to leave the poor boy alone.

Cheerful is good, right?

"Um. H-hi."

It's hard to be nervous around Jonathan. She smiles and sips her tea again.

She decides to bite the bullet. "From the stuttering, can I assume you know I'm dead?"

There's someting about her Esk can't quite put her finger on, but she has an inkling that this girl is a witch.
She watches her for a bit, wondering if she should say hi.
no subject
"Hi."
no subject
"I'm Esk. I'm fairly new here."

She looks at the staff and book, tilting her head a little. "Is that a magical book?"
Tara misses the magic books.
no subject
"It's Marrowleaf's Theory of Thaumic Imponderability," she says, passing it over. "Be careful, though. This copy's a little tetchy."
no subject
She carefully takes the book and runs her fingers gently over the cover. "Wow. We've got magic books back home, but nothing like this."
no subject
"That book's nothing special, it's just theory, mostly. It's not got as much latent power as some of the other books in the library. I'd lend it to you, but I do not want to get on the wrong side of the Librarian." She babbling now, she's found someone she can really relate too.

Van Helsing looks down at the dog, then nods at the blond lady, politely.

"Hi. I'm Tara Maclay."

He orders coffee from the bar and drinks it black, which tastes bad, but it's clearing his head a little.

She looks sympathetic. "You look like you have a headache. Have you tried valerian capsules? They help me when I get headaches."
no subject
"Valerian capsules?" he asks witha bit of interest.
no subject
Turning back to Van Helsing, she explains, "valerian's a herb that helps with headaches, and it doesn't have the codeine and stuff that chemical painkillers do. Give it a try," offering the capsules to him and leaning down to pet Beowulf.
