Agent K is at the bar, enjoying a glass of Eli Lockhart's finest bourbon, and minding his own business until somebody decides to help him mind it.

[And unless he gets Milli-timed into this disaster in the making.]

"I imagine it wouldn't," Jim says.

"For me, there's been a few odd goings-on here and there. Door took me somewhere I didn't mean to go. Almost didn't make it back."

K pats Bar. "Darlin', would you please get this man a drink? I think he might just have a fine story to tell."

[waco_jim]

Jim grabs the drink. "Much obliged."

He takes a long swig. "I learned an awful lot from the experience. The first thing I learned is that somewhere, in some benighted alternate universe, they actually made Spaceballs 2."

K shudders.

"So I've heard. We don't go to that one."

[waco_jim]

He takes another drink. "Don't blame you. I ended up in the movie itself."

K stares.

"What part? And how in hell did you get out of it?"

[waco_jim]

"Right as the movie was being bought out," Jim says. "If Bar hadn't pulled me back in, I'd be a goner right now."

He shudders. "Don't think I'm ever going to be able to look at those ears again without getting the heebie-jeebies."

K clenches his teeth in that way you do when you're thinking, That was a close call.

He lifts his glass toward Jim. "Well, here's to getting your ass back in here in one piece."

Jim raises his own glass in return. "I hear that.

"Apart from almost being killed or erased by studio execs, it's been business as usual. For a given value of business. And usual."

"Hurray for Hollywood," K shakes his head--and decides that merits another drink.

Jim's way ahead of K in that department. "And for board meetings, focus groups, and the powers that be. Huzzah."

"Oh, we don't let that kind around the bureau."

"Last time an Agent suggested a focus group, Zed--." K shrugs. "It was messy."

"Damned smart of you," Jim says. "Mr. Brooks would always just take notes and nod during the meetings, then throw his notes in the trash when they were done.

"Whatever Zed did, it's probably too good for 'em."

"Brooks? That the one who worked with Feldman?"

[waco_jim]

"From time to time," Gordon says.

[k_in_black]

K chuckles. "That Marty, he was a card."

"Hell of a troublemaker too. Zed was ready to deport him back to Regulus III five or six time, but he knew what was waiting for the poor bastard if he ever went back."

Jim chuckles. "Yeah," he says. "Something along the lines of 'confinement to the Armpit of Despair,' I'll bet. Quite a character, Marty. Not sure who he thought he was fooling."
