Alana's there with a plate of gluten-free brownies, waiting for anyone who needs to talk. She's in a hydrangea print wrap dress and comfortable shoes.

Bonnie is looking tired, but since she didn't actually attend the AA meeting, figures she should probably come back.

"Funny-lookin' cake." she comments. "Special flavour?"

"No, they're gluten-free brownies," Alana says with a gentle smile. "How are you, Bonnie?"

[is_the_motion]

"The hell is gluten?" Bonnie asks, sitting down nearby.

"I'm fine." she adds, as convincingly as she can manage.

[patterns_bloom]

"Gluten is a protein found in flours and other things," Alana says, titling her head. "I'm glad to hear that you're doing all right. Have you had any luck in quitting drinking?"

[is_the_motion]

"Well, I was supposed to try and go to AA but... that didn't really happen."

[patterns_bloom]

"Oh, really?" Alana says, offering her the plate of brownies. "What prevented you from going?"

[is_the_motion]

"I went in there with Turtle, one of my biker friends, and as I was about to walk in I saw my boss sitting there."

[patterns_bloom]

"And you were worried that your boss might see you?" Alana says, nodding thoughtfully.

[is_the_motion]

"Yeah. I thought she'd fire me. So we hid in a cupboard."

[patterns_bloom]

"I see," Alana says, furrowing her brow. "Why did you think she would fire you if she was struggling with alcoholism just the same?"

[is_the_motion]

"Because I operate heavy machinery."

[patterns_bloom]

"Is there another AA meeting in town that you could go to, or is that the only one?" Alana says, shaking her head.

[guppy_sandhu]

Guppy has accidentally dropped a marshmallow in the top of the chocolate fountain and is trying to fish it out. Every half a minute or so, it makes a little 'splot' noise.

He is also around if you want to talk, or eat chocolate, or mock his ineptness.

Sam's got a plate of cookies again (this time oatmeal raisin with no nuts) and is sitting comfortably wondering if oatmeal raisin cookies dipped in chocolate should be a thing.

[OOC: Will need to be slow for an hour or so. Meetings at work and then the commute home.]

Life support wasn't the exact same as therapy, but Sam was there and Sonya needed to talk with him. The night of the dance still bothered her-she more or less asked Cass to spend the night with her-and she hoped he could help her make sense of what happened.

"Sam.." Something about this just insist on informality. "Evening."

[notapilot]

"Sonya, hey." He says with a welcoming smile. "How do you think oatmeal raisin cookies would be with chocolate sauce?"

She seems a little tense or nervous, so he's hoping the question might relax her a bit.

[OOC: Sorry, wrong journal before.]

"Aren't they already a thing?" Sonya wasn't in the mood for sweets at the moment, but she couldn't see why they wouldn't taste good either. "They should be, if they're not."

Maybe she was also not entirely willing to jump into the deep end just yet.

"Well, I think I'm just going to have to give it a try. Air Force pride and all that." And so saying, he dips a few cookies into the chocolate and sets them on a plate.

"Things okay with you?"

There was no point in denying it. "Not really. Had a bad experience attending the fall dance awhile ago..when I was dancing, believe it or not." Because she couldn't.

Sam shifts to give her his full attention. "Are we talking awkward or Security involvement?"

She doesn't strike Sam as a trouble starter but you can never tell what will happen with ex-combatants.

"More or less both." She admitted. "Happened twice, the second time..some..person, kept..." She took a deep breath, somehow not even able to recollect what happened, only she knew it happened. "He said we were friends, but I never met the guy before..said some things he had no business knowing. He wouldn't leave me alone, and he got so close I punched him without thinking, it took Cassie appearing before he left me alone."

Recollecting wasn't easy, even if she wanted to. The entire episode seemed to come in flashes, not a clear memory. "The first time..I was dancing with a friend of mine..and I started getting a panic attack, couldn't move, had a hard time breathing."

"Okay. Do you happen to remember what triggered the panic attack? It's good that you recognized the attack by the way. Lots of times we don't until it's over."

He'll get the rest in a minute here.

She shook her head. "I was just dancing. I used to really enjoy it." She had no idea how or why something she used to like would trigger a panic attack. "Nothing in Outworld involved dancing, so why it'd trigger one..that's what I'm trying to find out."

Cadfael has never seen a chocolate fountain before, and is eyeing it while he tries to decide if he wants to try it or not.
