late night happy hour
Emcee can't sleep, and he isn't content to sit still all night, so he volunteers to tend bar. But just before the Bar takes a nap, Emcee requests from her a tablet and a small speaker so he can listen to music during the shift.
Insomniac's Happy Hour Specials
Nightmare
Sleeping Beauty
Bartender's Wet Dream
German Wake-Up Call
With the specials board done up and a music app on the tablet playing Matisyahu's "One Day", Emcee searches for maps on the internet and takes down notes on his notepad while waiting for thirsty customers.

As he keeps listening to the music, he closes his eyes for a moment, he wonders if he'll ever see that day in his galaxy.

"It is, isn't it?" he agrees. The song is a heartfelt, universal message of peace. With a good beat.
"You look as if you could use a drink. Or a nap."
no subject
"I'll start with the drink. I've been working on trying to make sense of something that could be good news or bring more trouble. What do you recommend and what are you working on?"
From the angle he's at, he can't see what Emcee's writing but the pad makes him curious, it looks like there's paper on it.

"That sounds like a good idea. There's holovid of someone who might change the fight for the better."

He looks - sleep rumpled.
Warm.
This is an illusion of hour. But he did just wake up and he is a little bleary-eyed.
And bare-foot.
And wearing soft, worn jersey shorts.

adorable sleep-rumpled vampire, bane of Emcee's existence
"Eric," he breathes out in an exhalation of surprise. It's been a long while since he's seen him.
no subject
Vampire hearing and all that.
Still wide-eyed and child-like.
"... hi?"
Because maybe Emcee rather wouldn't talk with him?
no subject
On the one hand, he's relieved to see him again, still alive, though he has no idea what's happened since the last time they spoke at Jay's party.
And on the other hand, he's...disappointed. Disappointed that the old Eric hasn't returned.
But he still really wants to jump over the bar and jump on him.
"Hallo, darling, how are you?" he gushes, leaning forward on the bar. "How have you been?"

Baze spots Emcee at the bar, and lights up with a beaming grin.
"Emcee! Just the man we wanted to see! May the Force of others be with you!"

"Good evening, gentlemen! Yes, bartending again. I have nothing better to do when I can't sleep and nobody is sharing my bed," he laments dramatically. "Recommendations? I always recommend gin. Always, all the time, in copious amounts. But as for tonight's specials, you can choose which one sounds the most appealing: Nightmare, Sleeping Beauty, Bartender's Wet Dream, or German Wake-Up Call."
no subject
"Those all sound fun. Do any of them have gin in them?"

"Autor, darling, how are you?" he beams at him. "Oh, it's nothing, really. When I don't have parties to go to and nobody is in my bed, I tend to get restless at night. Where exactly are you coming in from?"

"Gil wants to know what holiday you celebrate." Fry says, helping the little boy up to a barstool and then sitting on one himself.
[*He wanted to be an angel, but he struggled with the lines]
no subject
"Well, good evening, my lads. I celebrate whatever you celebrate," he replies with an agreeable smile. "That is, I personally don't celebrate any one holiday in particular. Unless it's New Year's Eve. That one, I celebrate, very vigorously."

Gil presents the card, which has a lot of purple glitter glue on it.

"Jay, darling," Emcee greets him, looking up with a smile. He sets the tablet aside and leans over the counter to give him a kiss on the cheek.
"I'm fine now, but I'm glad to see you. Do you want something to drink?"

"Bartender's Wet Dream, I think," he says, before turning to gather the ingredients, including notably a can of whipped cream. As he mixes the liqueurs, he goes on, "I have several things to discuss with you, too, all of them of utmost importance, so I can't decide which one to start with."
