late night happy hour

[i_am_your_host]

Emcee can't sleep, and he isn't content to sit still all night, so he volunteers to tend bar. But just before the Bar takes a nap, Emcee requests from her a tablet and a small speaker so he can listen to music during the shift.

With the specials board done up and a music app on the tablet playing Matisyahu's "One Day", Emcee searches for maps on the internet and takes down notes on his notepad while waiting for thirsty customers.

"Ah, I see," Autor says, inclining his head. "Then the party should be a large one. Good thing you have a whole hangar. Thank you for the invitation. Is there anything in particular that you want?"

"That I want?" he asks. "Your being there is all I want, darling, I don't need anything else."

"If you're sure," Autor says, furrowing his brow. He finishes off his drink. "Well, I'd better get back to Wilford's world. Time doesn't freeze there, and I have to feed the dog. I'll see you at the party if not before."

[i_am_your_host]

Emcee gives him a little questioning look at the furrowed brow, but he shrugs it off.

"Time doesn't freeze there? How odd! Well, then, I suppose your duty calls," he says with a warm smile. "I'm glad you stopped by tonight, Autor. See you again soon!"

[herr_bookman]

"Thank you, Emcee. See you later," Autor says, and slides off the stool. He crosses to the door, glancing over his shoulder once, and offers a salute before passing through the entryway.
