"You know what, let's have a party."

Dinah threw her platinum card (thanks, Oracle) on the Bar and as a result there is free flowing champagne for everyone whose culture, age and religion permits champagne - and top quality soft alternatives for the rest. There are bar snacks doing the rounds around the tables, and delicate winter flower arrangements on each surface.

And most importantly, on the TV screen is a lot of dancing, a giant countdown, and a big ball ready to drop.

...and when the ball drops, something happens.

All welcome - yes, that means all. Whether they're retired, deleted, AU, original or already being played by someone else, bring 'em along.

Usual all-skate rules apply:
1. Everyone's stressed out of their mind right now, so have fun!
2. Communication is key.
3. Gratuitous behaviour (either of a violent or sexual nature) will not be tolerated in the bar proper. Take that to an OOM, and then Content Warning the hell out of it before you link it.
4. Much like Vegas, what happens in All Skates, stays in All Skates (in most cases)

Warlock hasn't started his, either. He's just letting the scent wash over him, like someone who hasn't sat down for a good meal in months (he hasn't.)

"I wish I could tell you what was in it. It's from Chandrila, that's all I know."

"Presumably," Tang Fan says, "it's meat. That is, the flesh of some animal that has been hunted or slaughtered."

He grins.

"At least that's what meat means in my world."

"Yes," Warlock laughs, "meat is the same in our galaxy. The colla sauce, though, is a secret that's beyond my learning."

"It smells very interesting," Tang Fan assures him. "You don't know what colla is, though? A fruit? A herb? The inventor of the sauce? The place it's from?"

"At best guess a plant." He sounds almost apologetic. "I never asked when I enjoyed it, and haven't the time for recipes now."

[dipdyed_robes]

"Why not?" Tang Fan asks, dipping his chopsticks (jade, one of them repaired with gold) into the sauce and tasting it.

[twoforce]

"This," he gestures at his fodo, which he's eating with a knife and fork, himself, "is something you only see on the upmarket core planets. And I'm a wanted criminal these days. Not a lot of time for the high life."

"Wanted criminal?" Tang Fan asks. "Should I be worried?"

He doesn't seem to be.

Warlock offers a wry grin. "If a bounty hunter comes in here, blaster drawn, I'll try to avoid you getting caught in the cross fire."

"Oh?" Tang Fan says. "I thought they're not allowed to do that here."

[twoforce]

"They're not," Warlock admits. "But people will do a lot for the right price."

And the price for a surving Jedi is very high indeed.

"I think," Tang Fan says, "they might get washing up duty forever if they do that."

Warlock grins, lifting a fork with a chunk of meat pierced on the tynes. "And I would be happy to dirty as many plates as possible, if that were the case."

"You can have elaborate banquets with very little food on very many plates," Tang Fan giggles.

He decides to go ahead, picks up a knife, cuts up the meat, and then picks up a sauce-drenched piece with his chopsticks.

"Oh, this is good!"

"Told you," Warlock says, with great satisfaction. "Almost worth travelling to Chandrila for and risking being caught for."

"But then you'd have to lure them here in order to get them punished," Tang Fan says. "And Security might think it's a dishonest way of catching criminals."

Warlock offers a faint shrug. "I can take care of myself, if it comes to it."

[dipdyed_robes]

Tang Fan nods, then eats another piece. "You do look like it."

Warlock looks down at himself and his Jedi robes, the weapons safely hidden out of sight, and smiles serenely.

"Do I?"

[dipdyed_robes]

"You have the demeanour of somebody that will take no shit and knows they can back it up," Tang Fan says. "I know enough soldiers and guardsmen to tell even without seeing you fight."

Like Sui Zhou, who knows that when he goes kick ass, that ass will remain kicked.

"I guess you can take the soldier out of the fight but you can't take the fight out of the solider," Warlock muses. There's Kamino training under all of the Jedi practice, after all.

"Yes, that is very true for those I know," Tang Fan nods.

[twoforce]

"Do you know many?"

[dipdyed_robes]

"A number, because my landlord is a former soldier, now serving in the palace guard; he even cooks for me," Tang Fan says. "Together, we solve crime!"

And he doesn't even pay rent because Sui Zhou's family is rich anyway; Tang Fan is utterly shameless that way.

"You solve crime?"

It's Warlock's turn to grin, pretending concern. "Should I be worried?"
