There's an Ace! In the bar! Yes, I know it's been done.
She's at the bar itself, reading yet another book (thank goodness this one doesn't involve time travel), and sipping on a drink that looks vaugely purple, in certain lights.
She probably won't bite if approached.

(ooc: Mun is attempting to get life in order before her flight tomorrow, so replies will be slow for most of the night. Please distract me from packing!)

"Mine's upstairs... it's amazing what you can get from the bar if you ask nicely. Should I get it now?" She asks. No, she's not bouncing. You're imagining things. Swamp gas reflecting off the moon or something.

Mmm, Ace likes this plan. But she freezes, disbelieving, and looks up at Tim at his latest question.
"Tim." Quite politely. "Have you gone off your head?"

KARR has finally decided to move out of his corner, and ends up prowling the bar, moving in Ace's direction. Of course, he doesn't notice Ace until he's rather close, and so he halts suddenly, his scanner light frozen.

It's rather difficult to be snuck up on by a car. Thus, Ace should have cleared out of the area, or at least out of the easily-maneuvered bits. But she's rather into her book... until she gets that creeping feeling up her spine that someone, somewhere, is staring at her.
Very, very cautiously she looks over her shoulder. Then she freezes as well.
"Oh. Bugger."

KARR continues to sit there for a moment, frozen. Then his scanner finally starts to move again. "Hello, Ace," he says, then backs up several feet. "Are you feeling any different?"

Ace does her darnedest not to blush in embarassment, but it seems the harder she tries, the more red she becomes. Eventually, she gives up.
"If by 'different', do I feel like an absolute idiot, the answer's no." She winces. "Was I as horrid as I remember?"

"You were quite frightening. I was afraid that you'd get your explosives near my scanner if I did something to upset you." KARR remains a few yards away.

Ace snorts.
"Never fear. Tim's got m'nitro... I'm quite unexplosive without it."

"You could have asked." Ace points out, helpfully. "At that point, I prolly would have chattered on about anything." She hates her fair complexion now. Really, truely.

Kim sees the woman she was talking with a few nights ago and waves. She got another book, lucky.

Ace, who was taking a sip of her oddly-colored smoothie, waves back. It's that girl, whasshername, Kim. Huh.

Kim smiles and walks over. "Hi,"

"Hey. Take a seat, stay a while." Ace hooks one of the rungs of a nearby bar stool with her foot and pulls it out from under the bar. "How's life?"

Kim grins and sits down, "I tried that book thing. The bar didn't seem to want me to read."

"Did you ask her nicely?" Ace asks, a little confused. The only thing the bar wouldn't give her is highly fattening food. And chocolate, some days, though she seems to have relented on that score.

"I forgot to say please. I should have known it was something like that. No, she gave me a magazine." Kim holds up the Vogue. "In case you want to know about fashions in 2000."

Ace looks interested.
"Have they finally gotten around to letting women wear something other than a slip when going out?" Not that she cares about how much skin she shows, but those skimpy things are awfully hard to hide explosives on.
