Liam walks in through the front door.

There's a small blonde girl sitting on his shoulders.

"Yep!"

"Good," Dianne smiles. "Good thing your daddy brought your here, then, huh?" - with a quick wink at Liam.

"Yep. Unca Charee. Choc'lat."

The girl knows her priorities.

Dianne grins. "The important things in life."

Megan nods seriously.

Dianne shifts her grip on Megan a bit. Conversing with a two year old is a fairly new thing to her, but she thinks she's off to a fairly decent start. "Has he brought you here before?"

"Yep. One."

"Once", Liam translates.

Dianne smiles a bit at Liam in thanks, then nods at Megan. "Good. So it's familiar already, then. Have you made friends here?"

"Sunny! Zi'fel."

Dianne can make out the first two syllables, and opts not to worry about the last two. "Sunny? I haven't met Sunny. Is" - wild guess - "she nice?"

Megan nods.

"Pretty hair. Bites."

"She bites?" Dianne asks. "Why?"

Megan shrugs.

"The girl eats forks", Liam interjects. "Never seen teeth like it."

"Forks?" Dianne is impressed. "Really?"

"Yep. Saw it myself."

"Wow. Is she human?" Dianne can think of no other place where it would be appropriate to ask such a question.

"As far as I know. Seems the head barman and his girlfriend have adopted her."

"Bernard? How nice. How old is she?"

"About the same age as Megan."

Megan, hearing her name, stops looking around the bar and focuses on Liam again instead.

"Daddy?"

Dianne smiles at this.

Liam looks down at Megan as she attaches herself to his leg.

"Yes, baby?"

She just hugs him.

Dianne just about melts. Or maybe that's her mun. Either way, Dianne says softly, "She really is sweet."

"That's my little girl", Liam answers with a smile. "And I think she's getting sleepy."

"Maybe she should go down for a" - she remembers just in time not to say the N-word in front of a two year old - ". . . you know, then."

Liam nods, scooping her easily off the floor. She snuggles into his shoulder.

"Time to head home, Megs?"
