*He approaches the karaoke machine slowly. It lights up and looks inviting-- as inviting as a possibly-evil-because-of-its-pinkness karaoke machine can be.*

"Ano..." She puts a hand to her head, smiling awkwardly. A slight blush tinges her cheeks. "It's a song about the feelings of being in love with somebody. I'm not sure why I chose it... I usually prefer traditional music."

"Oh, yes. I'll play whatever my user wants me to, of course, but I like older music better. I don't really understand much of the new music."

She pauses. "Where and when do you come from, if I may ask?"

I come from Sunnydale, California, by way of 2003. Of course, if you look for Sunnydale, it will no longer be there due to an unfortunate and unscheduled apopcaly-- er, apocalypse.

"Tokyo, Japan, Earth, 2005." She smiles. "Then I am certain you know of me. My name is Windows 95." She bows to him.

She takes a step back, surprised. "A-ano... I don't even know your name!" she protests, blushing.

Oh, sorry. I'm Xander. And it wouldn't be a "marry me, I love you" hug, it'd be more like a "wow, you were my first oeprating systems, here's to good times" hug. Although, you know, I never really thought of you as being this ... female.

"Well... you weren't really ever MY user, but..." She smiles awkwardly and opens her arms. "I will be happy to represent the version of me you used. Which of my sisters did you get later?"

*Xander gives her a brief hug, then backs away. At her question, he looks sheepish.*

Well, truth be told, I switched to an iMac. No hard feelings between you guys, right?

Wrong thing to say. The sweetness drops from her face, replaced by a stony scowl.

"Traitor! You abandoned the superior OS family for that shameless wench?!"

Her grip on the blue bundle of fabric (which might be recognisably katana-shaped) shifts slightly.

*Xander jumps back and stumbles into a chair.*

I'm sorry! I really had no idea that it would offend you! Oh, wow, look at the time, I'd really better be moving along ...

Fortunately, though the OS girls don't quite follow the laws of robotics, 95 can't quite bring herself to harm a user. Instead, she spits onto the floor in front of him.

"Be out of my sight," she snaps, glaring.

*Xander hastily complies, reflecting that this explains a lot about computers. They ARE capable of hate, after all. If only Willow knew.*
