Bulding Site II.
Asar-Suti is in the half-finished staff quarters again.
He's been conjuring things for quite a while now: wallpaper, paint, glue, doorknobs, tiles, washbasins, rolled-up carpeting, DIY floowboards, what have you, he's busy making it.
And a few cardboard packages of purportedly easy-to-build kitchen cabinets, for those of the staff who get their own small kitchens in their quarters.
He's got a tan bathtub and nice, fiddly brown-and-green mosaic tiling already secreted away, set aside for Gil's future bathroom.
The place is busy; people are bustling about, demanding more of this or that, asking each other how something works, and lending each other hands, arms and other body parts for the more arduous tasks.
The goal of finishing this weekend looks quite realistic.
[[OOC: This is the second of the building site posts that I'd suggested; if your character volunteered to help or just likes to lend a hand, come on in - fly-by posts to establish your pup was there, long chats and brief interludes all equally welcome!]]

She tilts her head again. "Do you mind me asking where you come from?"
no subject
"And I come from a small High Fantasy world that is so old-fashioned that it doesn't even have a name for the whole world,a s people don't realise there could be another. I'm actually a god of magic, even though I might seem like some 'regular guy' just now; back home, I used to be the Dark God Of Awesome Powers whom the bad guys worshipped."
By now, Asar-Suti is used to telling people this.
no subject
"Wow! Wish I could claim something as interesting." She grins again. "I'll be at Mike's party--if I see you there, I'll introduce you to him. He's a trip."
no subject
Asar-Suti grins; she seems to be used to the typical Milliways weirdness by now.

"Oh, just so I know--can you do anything like shapeshift? A couple of people surprised me by that and I don't want to inadvertedly get angry at you or anything." She's still a little miffed at Yrael.
no subject
"I know Yrael - but I don't sneak up on people cat-shaped, unless, erm, it's a complicate situation that merits it. Not just as a trick.."
Asar-Suti remembers listening to Bartleby and Lochiel talk, shortly before Christmas, while he was lapping milk in cat shape.

Oh dear, Asar-Suti's found somebody he can show off to.

"What would you find blood splatter and fibers for?" his voice asks from the vicinity of the cat.
no subject
Sara's resisting the eyes. She will not rub the cat's ears. Honestly.
no subject
"Oh, you are one of the people who Fight Crime? That seems to be a very popular profession among the people who come here, too. Apart from the heroes and heroines with swords, the magicians, and the supernatural beings."
no subject
no subject
"I hear it is higly respected, and those that Fight Criime are some sort of heroes, on Earth?" the voice from the vicinity of the cat continues.

Showing off car-shape in this confined space is probably not a good idea. Nor owning up to doing specific shapes of specific people...
"Loving your work is very important; if you know it's worthwhile, it's not dreary work," he says, remembering how Gil was homesick for his kitchen when they were in New Orleans.
no subject
She trails off, remembering the despair on the faces of that one girl's parents. 15, gunned down in front of her home, for daring to go and report her rape. Such waste...
no subject
He can empathise with being horrified by the horrors of reality.

Sara really has a terribly tough job, he things, with admiration.

He nods at Sara again. "It was great to meet you - on the building site, I have met lots of people I would never have spoken to otherwise."
Then, somebody calls for more hinges, and Asar-Suti hurries over to see what kind of hinges they really need.
[[OOC: and the mun must sleep because it's three at night for her - thanks for the RP!]]
