Claire is by the fire. She is reading to Seth from Winnie-the-Pooh. Seth is pretending to focus on the moving pictures. Really though he's just trying to break his own record of five consecutive spit bubbles.

"That long? An' to think he was only few days when I last saw him." Hawkins sat down next to her, pulling up a chair/stool.

"You been alright?" He paused and glanced about. "You, Seth, Charlie? If there's somethin' I can help with..."

He produced his pocket-knife and slit his palm, showing the wound to Claire. Unlike the previous time he had done this, he bled a deep blue rather than a rich crimson.

He clenched his fist for a moment and the wound was gone. He wiped the blood away on his overalls.

"Means I'm somethin' else. Not my human part, though. Well, I guess I ain't human." He paused. "Means I'm changed. 'The Prince'." Simply put, he has taken on an avataric role by killing the avatar that came before him. Not that he had wanted to, though.

He watched her leave with a careful eye, just in case she needed a hand. Once she was out of sight he went on his way.
