OMG BARTENDING POST BLING BLING :O
*Bernard emerges from the Staff Wing and walks behind the Bar.
He doesn't even ask her for cigarettes, and so he's surprised when one lonesome Camel Light appears rather sheepishly on her gleaming surface next to a shot glass and a bottle of Hacienda del Cristero.
He grins.*
Thanks, baby. Think I'll save it up.
*He looks out over the barroom and calls out the specials.*
Welcome to Milliways Happy Hour.
Food specials are chicken casserole; spinach and ricotta quiche; and beefsteak with chips, onions rings and peas.
Drink specials are Magner's cider and Harp lager.
*He pours himself a shot.*
What'll you have?

It's gorgeous, if I do say so myself.
We'll have you over once we have any furniture to speak of.

*Snow smiles*
It's things like this that make it really sink in . . . we're setting in roots and barely thinking about what we left behind.

I'm rather more Bound than anyone else. I can't go to the House of Arch, Snow.
But thanks for the invite.
*A small smile*
I dunno about you, but I think about my parents every day.
no subject
All right. I was just wondering.
I think about my sister sometimes, but she's been here before and I don't feel like I'll never see her again. She was really the only family I had. Beyond that, I had few close friends back home, and though there's some I wouldn't mind seeing again, I know there'd be major chaos if I actually went back.
no subject
Yeah.
Sometimes I hope they'll walk in. And sometimes I dread it, in case they get Bound.
no subject
I hope they manage a visit. The bar isn't the life for everyone, I realize that. But. It's the best choice for me right now, and the best choice I have for a place to raise the kids.

We'll see.
I've at least got to find a way to tell them about Sunny and Nymphadora.
Kathleen and Dude both'll be tickled pink. They loved Nymphadora when they met her.

*a wide smile*
They got to meet Tonks? When was this?
no subject
The Princess. And she's from a decade in the future, and an alternate future to boot.
Also, she's a snake in the grass.
*At the next, the look softens, and he smiles again, flushing a bit*
Yeah, it was just after Christmas, before I was re-Bound. I wanted to see them before, you know? It was about a week before Crowley knocked sense into our heads, so it was a little awkward, but--
*A laugh*
Kathleen took one look at us together and as soon as Nymphadora was out of earshot, she cornered me and made me tell her everything about this girl I was in love with.
So, they knew instantly what she was to me. And they loved her.
They'd be really happy to see us now.

*a soft smile*
At least they've met her, and got along well.
*she looks to the side, her face closed*
No nasty surprises if they do show up.
no subject
*A laugh*
That'll scare Kathleen right out of her britches.
*At the last, his forehead furrows with concern.*
I take it you didn't have such a good experience with meeting your in-laws?
no subject
Haven't met Bigby's parents yet, but I'm more worried about my own showing up. We didn't exactly see eye to eye on things.
no subject
...Oh?
no subject
I'm afraid to find out what they'd think of Bigby.
no subject
Can't really imagine. My parents are about as anti-traditionalist as you can get.
no subject
Heh. Sometimes I wonder what things would have been like if Bigby had found me earlier.
no subject
*Are his eyes twinkling?*
no subject
No doubt.
no subject
We'll talk later?
no subject
Of course. Have a good evening, Bernard.
*and she heads off to speak with Virginia*
