milliways_bar | Ingress's Sixth Birthday Party

*It's eleven o'clock on Saturday morning, thanks to Millitime, and the stage is set for Ingress's birthday out by the lake. The House of Arch family has gathered around a perfect picnic spot under a tree. Right beside them is a playground Tom has conjured just for the occaision. There is a swingset, a slide, a merry go round, and a sandbox charmed with sand that's perfect for building.

Ingress is wearing a gown fit for a princess. It has been charmed against stains and ripping just for this special day. She is also wearing a blinking button which reads "I am 6!" She is very, very, very excited.

Tom, Door, Gavroche, and Megwyn are putting finishing decorating touches on the picnic tables set up with a gigantic cake, gallons of ice cream from Florean Fontescue's ice cream parlor, and punch. There is also a table with baskets of wizarding crackers. These are gifts for the guests - once the crackers are popped, the recipient will get a hat of some kind (maybe there will be a plethora of pirate hats!) and a wizarding toy or game like chess or gobstones. Or whatever else you'd like - the guest gets to decide!

There are several chairs under the tree as well, providing a good view of the playground.

Lilly comes up to her, smiling and holding a box wrapped in shimmery blue paper and covered in a rainbow variety of bows.

"Happy birthday, Ingress!"

Hi Lilly!

Wow, is that for me???

Lilly grins at her.

"It most certainly is. It's traditional in my world for birthday girls to get some pretty fabulous presents, you ken."

It is in mine too! Can I open it? OH! You get a present too!

*She brings over a basket with the wizarding crackers in it.*

Pick the one you like and thank you for coming.

"You can open it whenever you like it," Lilly assures her. She eyes the basket, and picks up a cracker.

"What do I do with this, exactly?"

You pull it. It will pop and then presents fall out, like a hat and a toy.

Lilly nods, and does so. Out falls a wizard hat, which she promptly places on her head, and a kazoo.

"Nice! Thanks, Ingress."

Lilly watches, laughing. Ingress opens presents like she does.

*She gasps and pulls out the most wondrous, glittery blue shoes to ever exist. She hugs them to her, looking up at Lilly with joy.*

They are the best shoes ever!!!!!!!!

Lilly beams.

"I think so too. I'm glad you like them."

*She kicks off her shoes and slips them on, holding up her skirt so she can see them. She does a little tap dance.*

Wow... I love them.

Lilly is thrilled. Kid present buying is tricky.

"That rocks, Ingress. I thought you might. And they look unbelievably fabulous on you."

*Ingress gives her a biiiiig hug.*

Now you have to eat cake and ice cream!

*She pulls her by one hand over to the table.*

You can have as much as you want. I've had two pieces and one icing flower.

*She swipes another one off the cake and grins.*

Lilly hugs back, and lets herself be led over to the table.

"It's your birthday," Lilly says solemnly. "Icing flowers are to be eaten by the handful. I will have some cake though, thanks."

*Ingress nods. Lilly is a wise, wise woman.*

And you have to have ice cream too. It's from Florean's in Diagon Alley a it's yummy.

"Can't argue with the birthday girl," Lilly replies cheerfully. She takes a slice of cake, a scoop of ice cream, and a bite of both.

"Delicious!"

The punch is good, too!

*Ingress pours some into a cup, spilling most of it on the tablecloth, and hands it to Lilly.*

Lilly lifts the glass to her.

"Here's to a happy sixth birthday, Ingress. Cheers!"

Yay!

*Ingress claps her hands and then waves goodbye as she wanders off to greet another guest.*
