Ingress's Sixth Birthday Party

*It's eleven o'clock on Saturday morning, thanks to Millitime, and the stage is set for Ingress's birthday out by the lake. The House of Arch family has gathered around a perfect picnic spot under a tree. Right beside them is a playground Tom has conjured just for the occaision. There is a swingset, a slide, a merry go round, and a sandbox charmed with sand that's perfect for building.

Ingress is wearing a gown fit for a princess. It has been charmed against stains and ripping just for this special day. She is also wearing a blinking button which reads "I am 6!" She is very, very, very excited.

Tom, Door, Gavroche, and Megwyn are putting finishing decorating touches on the picnic tables set up with a gigantic cake, gallons of ice cream from Florean Fontescue's ice cream parlor, and punch. There is also a table with baskets of wizarding crackers. These are gifts for the guests - once the crackers are popped, the recipient will get a hat of some kind (maybe there will be a plethora of pirate hats!) and a wizarding toy or game like chess or gobstones. Or whatever else you'd like - the guest gets to decide!

There are several chairs under the tree as well, providing a good view of the playground.

Shock comes out of the woods, slightly dirty and dragging a metal sorta-box with a large rodent inside of it.

"Hi Ingress, I couldn't catch the bunny that's out there, so I got you this rat instead!" She heaves the rodent in a sorta-box near Ingress and smiles proudly.
"Happy Birthday!"

Lilly comes up to her, smiling and holding a box wrapped in shimmery blue paper and covered in a rainbow variety of bows.

Indy doesn't approach the beautiful princess. But he rather obviously has a gift for her under his arm. Perhaps, he'll just leave it with Tom if he can get away with not being noticed...

A flash of light, and there's a Q crashing the party. He considers what's going on, and suddenly in his hands, there's a box about 2' each side, wrapped in silver glitter paper and a big red bow.

Charlie drags Bartleby back through the door long enough to bring presents.

They may not be magical but they should be sparkly enough to satisfy any six-year-old girl.

Van Helsing, regrettably, cannot make it to the party, however...

Beowulf is bounding outside and locates the birthday princess by manner of sniffing out cake or something.

He's a weird dog.

Indy sidles up cautiously. "Um... nice morning for it."

At some point, probably far too early in proceedings to miss any of the games or fun, Indy warily approaches the party area. He has a small gift-wrapped package, but he's definitely trying to keep a low profile. But that's very hard to accomplish when you are one of the first people to arrive.

There is a significant moment when he pauses on the path and considers fleeing back to the bar, but he does see a few friendly faces, so he continues on to the party and tries to ignore the feeling of impending doom.

Funnily enough, his impending doom is probably not Lilly, who strolls up and elbows him lightly in the ribs.

"What up, sai?"

*Jack strolls in, whistling. He's carrying an awkwardly bulky bundle that looks suspiciously like it might be a gift.

He's also got a small flask that smells suspiciously like rum, and a wicked grin.*

*He is glomped by an excited six-year-old*

At some point, Susan Delgado comes out of the stables and heads in the direction of the party, smiling.

Joanie, easily visible in a small basket that Susan has looped over her arm, is trumpeting and waving a purple violet with her trunk.

Susan smiles at her and lifts her hand in a small wave.

From the basket over her arm, the tiny elephant trumpets. Seems Joanie's learned when Susan's waving, there's someone to be greeted, say true.

Shelley wanders outside for a bit, and watches the party with interest. She grins, remembering her little sister's parties. They had... really not been very like this one.

"That must be Ingress. Tom said she's fearless and knows only friends. What a lucky girl she is, able to grow up that way." He smiles to the child, then offers her the box. In it is a toy of his own making, a puzzle in the shape of a pyramid. Tom knows what it is and has approved.

"Hullo, Ingress. Happy birthday."

He turns to Fleur. "Look, I'm here with the two prettiest ladies in the entire place."
