Ingress's Sixth Birthday Party

*It's eleven o'clock on Saturday morning, thanks to Millitime, and the stage is set for Ingress's birthday out by the lake. The House of Arch family has gathered around a perfect picnic spot under a tree. Right beside them is a playground Tom has conjured just for the occaision. There is a swingset, a slide, a merry go round, and a sandbox charmed with sand that's perfect for building.

Ingress is wearing a gown fit for a princess. It has been charmed against stains and ripping just for this special day. She is also wearing a blinking button which reads "I am 6!" She is very, very, very excited.

Tom, Door, Gavroche, and Megwyn are putting finishing decorating touches on the picnic tables set up with a gigantic cake, gallons of ice cream from Florean Fontescue's ice cream parlor, and punch. There is also a table with baskets of wizarding crackers. These are gifts for the guests - once the crackers are popped, the recipient will get a hat of some kind (maybe there will be a plethora of pirate hats!) and a wizarding toy or game like chess or gobstones. Or whatever else you'd like - the guest gets to decide!

There are several chairs under the tree as well, providing a good view of the playground.

Come, birthday with them!*

OOC: Summary forthcoming. However, very important (and menacing) Barty and Tom thread within.

I reckon when the birthday girl demands it. Folks of the Underside don't dwell on organization, really.

Indy looks wary again. "Ok... 'cause I kinda wanted to be long gone by that point."

When the chants of "ring around the rosie" begin, I'll give you a signal.

It's really not that bad. Have you never thought of having children of your own? I certainly never had, but I find it's quite nice.

Indy stares at Tom some more, and then laughs nervously. "I have a tiny elephant in my care, and an ex-turtle. I'm the adopted uncle of nine kids that belong to a friend of mine back in my world and adopted uncle to Meg Giry as well..."

"That's quite enough for the time being."

"I don't mind kids as a rule and they can even be quite useful sometimes. it's their strength in numbers that I fear."

I understand that. We've had several in the nursery at a time and they can be... downright terifying.

To me, anyway. Msry Poppins deals with them in a scarily easy way.

"Who's she? Not sure I've heard her name around here before."

You don't know of Mary Poppins? Magical nanny. Comes when she's needed. She showed up just when we needed her most and has been with us ever since.

She's brilliant.

"Sounds perfect, and very convenient. Damn. We could do with someone like that to look after Stampy. I don't suppose you know anyone who is good with animals who wouldn't mind watching her when Mike and I are away?"

*Tom considers this a moment*

Have you met Rubeus Hagrid? He's a giant fellow from the Wizarding world.

"Hagrid? No, but he replied to our ad. Said something about being able to watch her for free while he tended the garden."

He finally takes off the pink flowery hat that come out of the cracker, and holds it by his side.

He's the Care of Magical Creatures teacher at Hogwarts. I should think he'd do well with your elephant charge.

"Excellent. We'll give him an interview for the position then, I guess."

He shies away a little as a troop of screaming children comes racing past. "Um... have I done my duty yet? I met Ingress and gave her a gift."

Yes, and look - you survived!

I'll see you later, Indy.
