Seth entered the bar, feeling much better then the day before. Ordering a bagel and a cup of coffee, he situated himself at a table, eating and people watching. Maybe he'd run into someone he knew, or maybe he'd even meet someone else. He'd welocome anyone, after all, he's feeling rather social today.

Would he welcome a Jedi? Anyway, a distracted Jaina walks by his table, a glass of Corellian ale in hand.

"Hey! Jaina!" Seth smiled as he called out to her, waving sheepishly as she passed by his table. He realized that he probably sounded like the biggest dork on the planet. "Want a uh, a bagel? I have cream cheese!"

She stops, recognizing her name. She spots Seth and waves, walking over. "Hey Seth," she says, smiling slightly. "What's a bagel?"

Seth pushed the plate towards her with a smile. "That's a bagel. Come on, sit down and try one. If f you don't like it....well...then I don't know if we can be friends," he said, his tone joking.

Jaina takes a seat, tearing off a piece of the bagel that she places in her mouth. She chews experimentally, and then smiles. "It's not bad. Better than Oreos."

"Here, put some of this on it." Seth pushes the plate of cream cheese towards Jaina, handing her a butter knife. "Just sort of spread it on."

Jaina nods, taking the knife and spreading some cream cheese on another piece. She takes another bite. "Is that some sort of cheese?"

Seth nods and smiles. "Yeah, it's cream cheese. So...what have you been up to?"

"It's good." Jaina shrugs. "Saber practice, spending time with Jag and other friends. Nothing that excting." She takes another bite of the bagel piece. "How about you? How do you like Milliways so far?"

"It's not bad. I've had trouble sleeping, but other then that I'm having a good time so far," Seth said, taking a bite of his own bagel. "I'm getting sort of bored though. There's only so much of sitting around a bar I can take before I break into show tunes and start dancing on table tops, ya know?"

She nods, knowing that feeling all too well. "Can you leave?"

Seth shrugged, staring down into his cup of coffee. "I don't know. I can see the door, but I'm afraid to try it."

Jaina turns to look towards the door, a small frown on her face. "Last time I tried opening it, there wasn't anything on the other side. That was almost three months ago."

She gives him a sympathetic smile. "I've been afraid to try again."

"I know what you mean. I'm afraid that there won't be anything there, and then what?" Seth shrugged his shoulders, giving Jaina a sad smile in return.

"Then your Bound." She lets out a small sigh, not too happy with that. "At least I can visit other people's worlds if they take me."

Seth sighed as well, taking a sip of his now cold coffee. "I wish I had the courage to just try it and see, but I guess when it comes down to it I'm just a wuss."

"Everyone lacks courage sometimes."

"I lack it ninty percent of the time," he said sadly, pushing his plate and half-finished bagel away from him.

"That can't be true." She looks down at the half-finished bagel and winces. "I didn't cause you to lose your appetite, did I?"

Seth shook his head, pushing away his coffee as well. "Nah. Just not hungry anymore," he said, glancing at the door nervously. "Maybe tomorrow I'll get up the nerve."

Jaina nods. "Would it help if you had someone go with you? Backup of a sort?"

"That'd be nice," he said, leaning his elbow on the table, his chin in his hand.

Jaina smiles. "I don't mind volunteering for the mission."

Seth returned the smile. "Thanks. I appreciate it, Jaina. And hey, if I can get home, you're welcome to come visit Orange County."

"You're welcome, Seth. Just find me whenever you want to give it a try." She takes a sip of her drink. "And if you do get home, I might take you up on that. I've been to Earth twice and wouldn't mind going again."
