Random's in the bar.
He's looking a lot calmer, drinking his typical Scotch.
And he's reading Tarot. Apparently without any major portents of doom.
Woo bloody hoo.

And Raven is sitting nearby.

"Yes. More certain, definitely. Better the evil you know than the one you don't."
no subject
"It is always best to see them coming, yes."
no subject
"You really do look a lot better, you know. And my Tarot Cards have stopped spazzing out and showing me the same thing over and over. Which is refreshing, really."

"I'm having trouble understanding them. Q is bouncing everywhere in so many shapes that he's hard to trace."
no subject
"Q?"
no subject
He keeps reading, then gives a sigh of disgust, shuffling the cards back into his deck.
"Smarmy Bastard."
no subject
"He is everywhere, lately. I have promised to help, as I may."
no subject
"You need information? I have it. It's hard, but I've been concentrating. I know a lot more about him than he does about me."

"He's called Q. His female body is introduced as 'Avonna' or something like that.
He's seeking to understand humanity, but is going to fail as he's going about it by watching their stupidity. He enjoys targetting one individual and making their life miserable. Setting matches underneath them to see how high they'll jump and the like.
He's omnipotent, no particular time, and he hasn't heard of Amber. He comes from something called 'The Q Continuum' the leaders of which he does not have exceedingly smooth relationships with."
He struggles to remember more.
"That's all I can think of, for now."
no subject
"That is not the way to understand humanity, no."
Raven should know, really.

He bites his lip.
Christ Almighty, he's forgotten the boy's name. It's been a long and sleepless few days, but this is just ridiculous.

"Good evening, Random."
no subject
"Good evening. How are you finding Milliways? Has the bar let you leave yet?"
He sounds honestly curious.
no subject
"No, but this place has an abundance of fine ale."
A quick chuckle.
"Perhaps, an overabundance... I spend more time drinking my dear old mother's hangover remedy than ale."
He grinned.
"A grave miscalculation."
no subject
"Ah, youth. You know you're getting old when the hangover is no longer worth the alcohol."
no subject
"It will be a sad day, indeed."
no subject
"So what world are you from, where Ale is the drink of choice, and where you have mercenaries such as yourself?"
no subject
"It doesn't have a name... It's just home."
no subject
"Well, anyone else in the bar from your place? Even I have a brother here. And God knows, you don't often stumble across Amberites."
no subject
"No... There does not seem to be."
no subject
"That must be hard, if you're bound. Friends from home can be very comforting."
