She looks pretty tired, but rather satisfied, as she sits in a booth not really reading her Poetry book.

“No. But KARR told me about the shark.”

Cue “Jaws” theme. And an uneasy look on Tony’s face.

"That would be the acquaintance. He -- died for me. But he was supposed to kill me." She sighs. "It's complicated."

“Yeah. Sounds like it’s complicated,” he says, staring.

"Yeah, so that's awkward. . ." She sighs. "But otherwise. . ."

“You haven’t gotten into any trouble, have you?” asks Uncle Tony sternly.

"No." She smirks. "Just work. And I got a chance to go home, which was nice."

“So you aren’t Bound anymore?” He grins. “How was home?”

[nita_callahan]

She sighs. "Actually, I'm Bound again now. But home was good." She quirks him a small smile. "My partner wanted to know if I got managed to get drunk while living in a bar."

He laughs. “Your partner? I think you told me about him and I just forgot.”

"Kit? We work together." A grin. "I'm sure if he shows up here, he'll managed to talk the Bar into serving him."

He raises an eyebrow and smirks. “He needs to talk Bar into serving him?”

"Well, alcohol."

“That’s not gonna happen,” he says as if he knows how the bar thinks. Or as if he knows how powerful a wizard Kit is.

"I dunno, Kit's good with inanimate objects. . ."

“Sentient inanimate objects?”

[nita_callahan]

"Most inanimate objects are sentient, really." She gives him a look and laughs. "Although you're right, they're not usually as sentient as Bar."

He tilts his head. “Is this one of those wizard things?”

[nita_callahan]

"Yes."

“How does that work?” he asks curiously. “I’m not a wizard so…”

"Sentience in inanimate objects? Basically, everything is self-aware, at least a little, and everything talks." She shrugs. "Most people just don't know how to listen."

“What do you mean, everything? Like if I had a car would it try to talk to me?”

"Oh yeah." She smiles. "One of the first things Kit talked to was his dad's car, I remember."

“What did the car say?” he asks, amused.

"I think it complained," she replies with a grin. "But it also gave Kit its anntenna, and that came in handy later."
