Bright and early again, the bar's resident dining car is behind the bar, setting out juice, sugar, sauces, all the things one needs for a good breakfast at the end of the Universe, the specials already written up on the chalk board:
"What'll you have?"
"What'll you have?"
no subject
"Hello," he says, glancing at Dinah. "Can I have the apple and raisin pancakes?"
He looks at her again. "You're new."
[[OOC: Just three or five passes, I'm afraid, as I'll have to leave in half an hour, for bloody work.]]

"There you are. Can I get you some tea of coffee?
"I am new, yes. This is my second week on the job. I'm Dinah."

Asar-Suti tries the pancakes and finds them excellent; he smiles to himself at how easily he supposes that people have heard of him because he's with the cook.
But then, this is a bar.
"Coffee, please," he adds.

"Oh, Mr. Whimple's a dear, isn't he? He suggested I get this job. So how long have you two been together?"
no subject
"Of course he's a dear - but I'm totally biased in his favour, so. I think Gil is the most wonderful person there is. We've been together for almost half a year now - it's six months on the sixteenth. Good thing you remind me; I have think of some fun thing we can do to celebrate. Somebody suggested picnics might be nice..."
no subject
"Well, ain't that sweet," she says. "You could certainly take a picnic outside if the weather's up for it. Thick crusty bread, a selection of cheeses, a nice Rosé, strawberries, of course."

Aeryn sat at the bar and chewed on some foodcubes she had been saving. They tasted worse when you hadn't eaten them for a while.

She grimaced, Dinah loved to serve people.
"And yourself?" It was a good way to practice small talk. Dinah didn't seem the type to insult anyone.
no subject
"Well, that's a shame. Can I at least offer you some juice?
"I'm just fine, thank you. Settling into my new job well. Meetin' all sorts of people."
no subject
She frowned at the bar.
"I'm having some financial problems, so it's budget for me from now on."
She looked annoyed, but Aeryn looked annoyed 50% of the time anyway.

"Goodmorning, Dinah. It is Thursday already?"
no subject
"No it's not Thursday, but I thought I'd vary it a little. As long as I do three shifts a week, it's flexible.
"How are you today, Lando?"

"And what can I get you for breakfast this morning?"
no subject
"But a cup of caff to start with could be nice."

He needs coffee. That much is patently obvious. Why he's here at all is quite a mystery... though not to anyone who isn't aware of certain Wednesday rituals.

"Han?"
no subject
Less formal than Tahiri, so, "friend or family of his?"
no subject
"Lando Calrissian." He extends his hand.
