Bright and early again, the bar's resident dining car is behind the bar, setting out juice, sugar, sauces, all the things one needs for a good breakfast at the end of the Universe, the specials already written up on the chalk board:
"What'll you have?"
"What'll you have?"

"Goodmorning, Dinah. It is Thursday already?"
no subject
"No it's not Thursday, but I thought I'd vary it a little. As long as I do three shifts a week, it's flexible.
"How are you today, Lando?"

"And what can I get you for breakfast this morning?"
no subject
"But a cup of caff to start with could be nice."

"Well, this morning I have Breakfast Wellington, that's steak and mushroom on English muffins: meaty and protein rich, or apple and raisin pancakes, which are sweeter, batter based.
"I think you'd prefer the Wellington, personally."

"I would imagine that caf might be like this coffee you mention. Assuming that coffee is a caffeine-based beverage popular with those who can't wake up in the mornings."

Within a few minutes she prodies him with a plate graced with two English muffins, each split into halves, and each half graced with a Portobello mushroom and a small chunk of steak.
"There you go, Hon."

"Do I eat this with a fork, or with my hands?" It never hurts to ask about such things.

"Most people like to use cutlery."

"Hmmm. You were right. This is very much to my usual tastes.
"This is a kind of mushroom, yes," he asks between bites, as he would never talk with his mouth full.

"I just don't recognize this knd of mushroom. A very subtle flavor compared to what I'm used to. Something, I think, that might appeal to certain palletes I know." He considers the muffin but decides it's just bread.

"Well, the bar can provide pretty much anything, from what I've observed. Or there's a garden and woods outside."

But then, I'm sure I'll find a way. I always have." He smiles as he keeps eating.
