*Tim is seated at his usual booth, perched on the edge of the chair. His arms are wrapped around a rather thick iron staff with a clawed end. It's new, but already he likes it, despite the weight. It adds just enough mysitcism to the three piece suit, blended nicely. For some reason, his cards are on the table. They just felt like coming out. So, if you want a reading, a flying lesson, or to just talk to Tim, feel free.*

*He's fine with the subject change.*

She shrugs. Why not, she doesn't think there's anything doomy they can pop up with this time.
"Only if you explain the whys and wherefors." She grins.

*Tim gestures at the cards.*

Shuffle until you feel its allright.

She blinks. Until it feels right? ... Is that like whipping cake batter until it's smooth and creamy?

Obligingly, she shuffles cards.

And shuffles.

She sets the pack on the table.

Right enough, she supposes.

*Tim flips the first card. The Ace of Mugs, reversed. It shows a pair of giant hands, female, gripping a large beer mug. There is a wedding ring on the right hand.*

This card represents you. It decries a hesitancy to accept things which come from the heart....

She raises an eyebrow at that.
"... Alright, I'll take the point, but how do you get that? Looks like it means someone should get me a really large beer."

The cards generally have meanings in and of themselves. Pre-set, this card will always mean that when upside down.

*He flips the next one, and it's him, crossing her, and he looks spiffy with his new staff.*

The Opener. Originality, creativity, skill, will-power, self confidence, dexterity, sleight of hand. I'm whats most important to you right now. Which is a good thing.

She eyes the card. Then the staff next to Tim.

"Right."

"And do you re-draw your cards every time you get a new toy?"

*A shake of his head.*

They redraw themselves.

"... You know that's kinda creepy, right?" Just so we're clear. Kinda neat. But also kinda creepy.

I Know.

*He flips the next car, placed above hers. The Lovers. It shows Tim and Ace wrapped tight against each other, locked in a passionate kiss.*

The Lovers.Love, harmony, trust, honor, the beginning of a romance, optimism, a meaningful relationship/affair. This position is in your recent past.

Ace studies the picture.

"Roughly this morning, by my count."

*Tim flips the next card. Val is shown carrying a tray on roller skates.*

The distant past. Perseverance, a journey, a rushed decision, adversity, turmoil, vengeance.

Ace looks at the card, then at Tim.

"... Alright. How did you go from a picture of a sometimes less-than-careful gal to that whole explanation?"

Like I said, most of these cards have predetermined meanings. The person is just an illustration.

*Tim turns over the next card, laying it below the main card.*

The future.

*He pauses, staring. He's used to seeing a valkeryie on this card, but it's changed. No actual face is visible, just the abodomen of a woman. With something bright growing inside. He takes a couple of deep breaths, then speaks calmly.*

The name has changed on this card. In common Tarot, it is called the star. In my deck, it is usually called the Valkeryie. But as you can see, it has renamed itself to be The Child. It speaks of destiny, unexpected events and special gain. Uhm.

*He stares at it again.*

Ace looks rather pale.

"It'd better be talking about Tonks."

*He shrugs.*

This is a reading about you.

*And he flips the last card.*

also the future....

*He stares. The female on the card is rather familiar to him. A cute little goth girl who always orders white russians.*

Death. Not actual Death, but Transformation, change, making way for the new.

*He's staring more at the hourglass shes holding towards the viewer. No sand in it, just an empty hourglass.*

Something to do with time?

She stares at him, bewildered.
"... I was going t'help the Doctor with those Cybermen outside, but not any travel..." He's not her Doctor, after all.

*Tim shrugs*

So speak the cards. They can be helpful, but mostly directly during or right after the fact.

"..." She's a bit startled by the suggestion, but... why the hell not? She talks to Bar all the time.
"So. Care to explain those last two?"

*Tim peers at her.*

I already did.

Ace eyes him back.

"I'm asking the cards." In a 'hey, you're the one who suggested this' sort of tone.

*Tim blinks at her several times.*

They're inanimate objects sweetie, they can't talk.

Ace headtables, but not very hard. No need to make the headache worse.
"I think I missed something." She voice is muffled by the wood.

They speak, but only through thier meanings.

*He pets her hair.*

They can't actually talk, just display what they see of the future, through thier meanings.
