It's late, but Behrooz is sitting alone outside, looking out at the dark lake. He knows this probably isn't a good idea, but he didn't feel like staying inside tonight.
He'd been reading some sheet music the Bar had given him earlier, but now it's on the ground, held down by a small rock.
Feel free to bother.

He pulls Triumph back when he sees Behrooz, and bends down, carefully, to pick her up. She squirms in ihs arms, but settles once he gets her in a hold that's comfortable for both of them, only problem is he managed to drop the cane in the process of getting her comfortable.
"Hey." he says to Behrooz.

"Hey," he replies quietly. He notices the cane on the ground, and instinctively stands and picks it up for him.

"What're you up to?"
no subject
"Nothing," he says honestly, with a slight shrug. His eyes go to the dog House is holding.

He hesitates before speaking again, as though he's thinking about saying something but isn't sure he wants to.

House says nothing, knowing sometimes Behrooz needs a few minutes to either say what's on his mind, or to say nothing at all.

He hesitates again, but ultimately says, "What I was saying... the other night..." He does manage to keep his eyes up.

"I just... had other things on my mind," he says finally.

You always have too much on your mind, he thinks sadly. "Yeah."

"Everything okay now, then?"

Zeke, intrigued by the sheet music, sneaks closer to bat at it with a tiny paw.

He looks down at it, but at the moment, doesn't move.

"Sorry about that. I'll get him out of your way."

I know I shouldn't be out here this late, he thinks.
"I didn't see you, either," he says, not able to keep the sheepishness out of his voice.
no subject
"Just watching the lake?"
no subject
"Yeah," he says after a moment. "It's... didn't feel like being inside."

The Bar can feel oppressive at times. More frequently than usual, lately.

Deciding that his conversation with Ramon Salazar the other day would not be a good thing to talk about, his eyes go to the kitten Castle his holding.

Zeke sniffs Behrooz's knee experimentally.

"It seems like a lot of people have been getting pets here," he says. Observantly.
