There is a Cuthbert, sitting at the bar with dinner.

There is also a newly acquired leatherbound notebook in which things--mostly lists, from the look of it--are being written and occasionally scribbled out. Mostly in the High Speech, though he's also taking the opportunity for more practice writing English.

"Hello, Meg. 'Bert is worried about his dress."

Well, he should be! *Meg says firmly, apparently without a moment's hesitation.* It's a very serious topic.

*She cocks her head and eyes 'Bert critically.*

- light blue or pink is your color, I think. And I think ruffles will suit your figure best - it'll make you look like you've got more of a chest.

"Meg, Meg, Meg." Cuthbert shakes his head mournfully. "Someday you're going to accept that pink is just not my color. And I resent the implication that I need ruffles to help with my figure, say thankya very much."

Anthy studies his chest.

"You couldn't fit much more than a small scimitar."

*Meg considers this as well, seriously.*

- yeah, she's right; I'm afraid Susan kind of has you beat on that score.

I mean, I'm sure your manly - chest muscle things - are very manly, but -

If you're looking for a Responsible Chaperone, Kaylee totally fits the bill. Right? Right.

"Somebody say ruffles?"

Just out for an evening constitutional.

"'Bert's worried they won't show off his figure properly," Anthy says somberly.

A curious blue-haired girl wanders over to the group, blinking. After a moment, she coughs politely.

"Excuse me? I couldn't help but overhear ... if you're looking for clothing design that will enhance the pectoral muscles, there are certain lines that will create that illusion. It has to do with the human eye and how it perceives spatial relations."

Cuthbert nods to Kaylee, with a look of exasperated amusement, and then blinks at the blue-haired girl.

"Well. That's nice to know, Miss...?"

*Meg says, earnestly, to the group at large,* You know, I think we need to seriously talk dressmaking. Clearly between all of us we've got enough experience to create something beautiful for poor 'Bert here -

"Oh, how rude of me." She bows quickly. "Ami Mizuno. Are you preparing for some kind of performance?"

Why else would he need a costume, after all?

"Cuthbert Allgood, and I'm getting married, actually." Cuthbert glances around at the other girls, then back to her. "And, um, I seem to have become the one wearing the dress when I wasn't paying attention.

She frowns, puzzled.

"Well, congratulations ..."

"Or he could fill balloons with pudding."

Anthy's so helpful.

Kaylee turns and looks at Cuthbert appraisingly.

"I'd think if you placed 'em right...shouldn't be that kind of problem."

Anthy brightens. "What color do you think would be best?"

. . . Not black.

There might be "not pink!" tossed out into the ether, there.

From, y'know, the one whose fashion options are being discussed here.

"But pink would work!" Kaylee argues.

Got to be pink, *Meg says firmly.* No other color for him.

"'Cept purple!"

Thoughtfully: "Fuschia?"

"You don't think a nice shade of blue?" Ami suggests hopefully.

Lilly overhears this, wanders over to see Meg, Anthy, Kaylee, random girl, and... Koosh?

Oh, this will be good.

"What up, sais? Are we turning Koosh colors or something?"
