Lilly in a bar.
something something orange blossom
probably rain too.
[ooc: if the psuedo-haiku isn't scaring you away, ping da emmy gee before tagging, as this is semi-plotty.]

Upon seeing Lilly, she heads straight over.
"Wei, Lilly."
no subject
"Wei, Susan. How goes?"
no subject
And if she has a few pieces of straw tangled in the ends of her hair, what of it?
"And ye?"
no subject
"I'm planning Mal's birthday party."
no subject
"Thee are? It's the end of this moon--month," she corrects herself. "The thirtieth, he said."
no subject
"Ever been to Vegas, Susan?"
no subject
"I've not, nay-- I've been to no city other than for Nymphadora's party, but I've heard of Vegas, at least."
no subject
"I think he's going to love it or kill me or both."
no subject
"Let's hope for the first, then."
no subject
Grinning, she reaches over and plucks a piece of straw out of Susan's hair.
"So, what're the odds I can tear you away from the stables long enough to come along?"
no subject
Susan looks ruefully at the straw and adds, "I've -- I should have braided my hair again before working more on those. It keeps getting tangled."
no subject
"Working on what, exactly?"
no subject
"These-- there are other shapes, too, and it's part of the bride-gifts I'm making, do'ee ken?"

It's early in the evening yet, but there are dark circles under her eyes and a faint slump to her posture. And that's an awfully big mug of coffee she's holding, even for Lilly.
He makes his way over, with a quick smile of greeting, and drops onto the couch next to her.
no subject
"What up, sai? How's it going?"
no subject
A light enough question, but there's a look in his eyes that says it's not just idle small talk.
The background worry is not exactly easing, here.
no subject
"Just working on some plans for things."
no subject
His eyes are still studying. But he's not pressing the point, not right now.
no subject
"Susan and Koosh's wedding and their parties, Svava's reception, Mal's birthday, Sheila's baby shower..."
She smiles wryly at him.
"I'm getting known for parties, apparently. I wonder how that happened?"
no subject
no subject
"Me either, but it's kinda nice, actually. It gives me something to do."
no subject
"...So, how many of them know you're planning such?"
no subject
Lilly laughs again.
"That's almost a fifty-fifty split. I'm getting much less devious than I used to be."
no subject
Yes, that's amusement, right there. The grin is hidden behind a sip of tea -- only, y'know, not really hidden at all.
no subject
"Tea again? I thought I was getting you converted to coffee."
She takes another sip from her giant mug.
"Tea doesn't have nearly enough caffeine, for one thing."
