Faith's not certain what Kitty's plans for Edmund entail, but the phrase Won't be back for a while probably means it's gonna be good fun for both of them.

Never one to stand in the way of romance or intercourse, she has agreed to take Ed's bartending shift for the night.

Which is why she's behind the bar, clad in a very short red leather miniskirt and matching (backless) halter top, nervous and trying to hide it.

"I'd rather you didn't, though I appreciate the sentiment. I do rather like living and I would rather not die again anytime soon."

"I didn't say I would. I just said I could have. I'm very strong, and all that."

"Unless you've got a dark secret you're wanting to share, Faithful, I don't see why you'd want to."

"I have a lot of dark secrets."

Faith shrugs. "And I wouldn't want to. I love you, I wouldn't want to hurt you."

"Thank you," he says with a nod. "When I'm seventy and sleeping with a lucious young thing who finds me distinguished and wordly, then I'll be happy to die in bed. Aside from that--" He shakes his head.

Faith giggles madly.

"If I know any lucious young things by then, I'll be sure to introduce you."

"Deal. I understand it gets harder as you get older. I hope to be the exception to that rule."

"I'm sure you will be," Faith assures him. "I mean, Yoga and all."

"That's true. The clean living. Though Keith Richards is still sexy and he hasn't lived cleanly for fifty years. 'Tis a delimma."

"Well, he's Keith Richards. I'm not sure he's human anymore."

"He probably isn't. He's morphed into a new life form known as Keith Richards. Kind of like less cuddly, more inebriated Tigger. He's the only one." He bounces a little. No tail, though. Woe.

Faith giggles.

"Fun, fun, fun, fun fun."

"Exactediately." He beams at her and then makes puppy eyes. "Refill?"

"Of course, love."

Faith refills.

"Thank you. So how'd you end up with this gig, anyway?"

"The regular 'tender got kidnapped by his girlfriend."

Faith winks.

"They're friends, so I'm filling in."

"Ah . . . the sexy handcuffs. Gotcha."

"Well, I doubt handcuffs. But then, knowing Kitty, maybe."

"Kitty is a very resourceful young lady. I'm sure they're having a great time." He sighs, a little enviously.

"I'm sure they are. She's hot."

Faith tilts her head at him. "Something wrong, love?"

"No, not really. I'm just rather distressed to discover I miss having a steady somebody. But--" He shrugs. "I'll manage."

"Ah."

Faith smiles sympathetically at him. "Sleeping alone sucks."

"Oddly enough, that has not been a huge problem." He fiddles with his drink.

"Ah."

Faith leans over the bar, a bit. "Need to talk?"

He shakes his head, but still says, "I don't know--I know know what Claire wants, I'm not sure what I want, thre's another bloke I'm reallllly attracted to but he doesn't--he doesn't do sex." He blinks in sheer noncomprehension.

"It's all very odd."
