There was a slightly violet deity by the fireplace, wearing a warm and brightly purple sweater, drinking a hot beverage almost totally but not quite entirely unlike chocolate from a violet mug, and reading a supernatural detective novel the cover of which was black and lurid purple.

Shortly before Christmas, Asar-Suti remembered last year and went for creature comforts.

"Giving her what she wanted and hoping for her voluntary gratitude," Asar-Suti said, and shrugged.

Noting Námo's honest astonishment, he added, "Sorry, my friend, I can't help being a devious Ihlini god..."

He blinks.

"I never expected her to offer, Asar-Suti..."

Devious? Asar-Suti? Never!

The Ihlini invented devious for their world, and Asar-Suti was their god who invented their magic, their immortality, their lifestones - you might say he invented to Ihlini. So.

That said, he didn't have much reason to do devious in the bar, any more.

"I did," he said, with a little apologetic grin.

He smiles.

"She wishes to return to Aman on Thursday. Allow the pregnancy to take hold in our lands. Then she will return."

Asar-Suti made a disappointed face. "That way, she is going to miss that big religious festival on the weekend, Christmas, you know? But I can see why she would want to."

"From what I understand, she will return to us on Saturday evening." He thinks for a moment. "I wonder if she desires to take her son with her. Maglor has not set foot in Aman in seven Ages, after all."

"That would probably cause quite a stir in Tirion," Asar-Suti said. "I found the Noldorin elves rather - cool, if I can apply such a Modern Earth term to people in Aman. Taurevanto arriving with a stranger didn't exactly draw a crowd. But Maglor might be something else entirely..."

He thinks for a long moment.

"Perhaps if I send them to another's home? Ingwë would welcome them... perhaps even Arafinwë."

"Let me talk to them where they want to go," Asar-Suti said. "I'm sure they'll think of something."

It felt of to think like that about a child not even conceived yet; but when elves wanted to, they would. None of that endless 'tiresome practising' the humans had to do...

He nods.

"Yes, thank you. Perhaps they have already spoken of it among themselves. I do not know. I saw her only long enough to agree to the terms and set the time."

Námo now shifts uncomfortably, looking to the fire.

"This is all very awkward."

"I suppose you don't really want the sex part of it, and she most probably doesn't, either; but what with elvish physiology, it can't be done with things that could be borrowed from Gil's kitchen," Asar-Suti said.

Námo does not know what a 'turkey baster' is, but his mun is facepalming at the thought.

"No, we must do this the natural way," he mumbles.

"Is there anything that can be done to make it easier for both of you? We have relaxing herbs, you know," Asar-Suti mused.

A nice infusion of lemon balm and hemp...

He turns his eyes to Asar-Suti.

"What do you mean? I do not understand..."

"There might be herbal remedies to make you less nervous at what has to be done," Asar-Suti elaborated.

He chuckles.

"I somehow doubt that even intoxicated, I would not be nervous. And her fearful."

A sigh.

"Maybe it will not be as terrible as I fear."

And maybe it would be.

"Intoxication would not be what you'd want, just calming down," Asar-Suti said.

But perhaps at times, bad sex was inavoidable, even here, to make up for all the good sex people had here?

He smiles at Asar-Suti.

"Thank you for the offer, but I would rather this be as short as necessary. If we are relaxed, we may enjoy it."

He didn't want to enjoy it, and he somehow doubted Nerdanel would, either.

"But, erm, you would have to enjoy it, in one way or another?" Asar-Suti suggested shyly.

"I will, in order to do this at all," he mumbles, somewhat embarrassed. "But I am at a loss to know how I will find that in me when I am not sexually attracted to her."

He supposes he shall be clinging to memories of Gorlim and Lee, if nothing else.

"Rely on mechanical friction, and conjure pleasurable images in your mind," Asar-Suti said. At least that's what he'd told his followers at similar occasions.

"Yes," he says very quietly. "I hope it will not take us long. It will be unpleasant at best, I believe."

"Sometimes, you have to put up with bad sex for a purpose," Asar-Suti sighed, thinking of all the Cheysuli his followers had occasionally had to seduce or force for the purposes of the Ihlini. He was sure Strahan hadn't enjoyed Keely, or Lochiel Blythe, any more than Námo and Nerdanel were going to enjoy each other.

"At least, you have good sex to go back to afterwards," he added.

This time his smile is true.

"Yes, I do. I find I am learning new passions each time I lay down in bed!"

"Only poor Nerdanel has nobody - but then, I don't know all that much about elvish passions, so I don't know if she misses it, or would have it if she could," Asar-Suti mused.
