It's been almost four months, in Ambergeldar, since Amy came into the bar. Four rather tiring months, really, spent criss-crossing the country so she could be introduced to a populace. But that all ended last week, in early October, almost two months early, and she's back, looking about for her friends.

The slight curve to her stomach could be the result of the fashion of her dress, or even a trick of the light. But given the way she's smiling . . . it's probably not.

Amy is back. And she has News.

Ingress isn't supposed to be in the bar, since Tom and Door are out. But the babysitter wasn't watching for just long enough for her to slip into the bar.

Luckily the clock is gone. Luckier still, the milkshake she gets is delicious.

"Hi, Amy!"

"Hello, Ingress," says Amy.

Ingress gets a hug.

"Are you supposed to be in the bar?" asks her princess lessons tutor, who knows the rules of the House of Arch.

Oops.

"Tom and Door went to see the Lord and Lady of the Green Park, so they're busy."

"Well, I suppose so long as you stay with me everything will be all right," says Amy, smiling. "How are you, dear? What have you been up to?"

"I've been playing with Gavroche and writng stories and lots of stuff. But Tom and Door are gone lots, and our babysitters are nice, but they're not princesses."

Not only is Cimorene no longer bound, Kazul rescued, and the wizards defeated, but Amy is here! Really, how much happier could Cimorene be?

"Amy!" she says, beaming, coming over with a big smile.

It would not be possible to be happier.

"Cimorene! It's so good to see you? How've you been?"

"I'm absolutely fantastic," she says, smiling. "The door came back, Amy! And Kazul is safe and sound, ensconced at Mendanbar's castle and overworking the poor kitchen staff. But we did it. And we're home."

She also looks relaxed for the first time in about four months.

"Cimorene that's wonderful. It's marvelous to be home, isn't it?"

Amy knows.

The mun resolves again to never, ever Bind any pups.

"And Kazul's all right?"

"It is" says Cimorene emphatically. "Of course we're not properly home yet. We'll be spending some time with Mendanbar in the Enchanted Forest until Kazul is well enough to travel."

She grins, "She's doing quite well. She's mostly just exhausted and hungry from being held captive for so long. I'm not sure Mendanbar's staff knows quite what to do with us, though I must admit, they do better than most palace staffs I've come across."

And now that she's actually taken the time to look at Amy, she smiles a bit wider. "And how are you, Amy? You look...different."

*. . . . . . . there's some staring going on.*

- Amy, how long has it been in your world?

"About four months, since I was last here," she says, laughing. "Long enough that this is not remarkable. Hello, Meg."

Not remarkable if Svava hadn't told me the news just yesterday - Dieu, it's like a baby boom here, *Meg says, eyes still wide; then, a little belatedly:* Felicitations!

[kitchen_maid]

A baby boom is, though, so much better than baby DOOM.

"Thank you," she says. "Things do seem to happen in clumps here, don't they? And how have you been?"

Well, it hasn't been that long for me, *Meg protests, laughing.*

Only about a week or so - just enough time for a trip and a little vampire-killing, is all.

Milliways, and odd times- it has not been that long since Wellard has seen Amy, but that hardly means he is not happy to see her again-

Thus, here is someone to see her who has no clue about fashions or dresses, but is just rather happy to see Amy in the bar.

"Henry, hello," says Amy, and he should be used to getting hugged by now, right?

"How've you been?"

Getting use to it, yes- So it is hardly any moment of surprise before Wellard hugs her back.

"Quite well enough- and you, Amy?"

"Happy to be back. Happy to not be traveling about the kingdom," she says.

"Oh, and pregnant."

It takes skill to choke on nothing but air.

Wellard manages this, eyeing Amy wide-eyed.

"You? You're pregnant?"

"Amy!"

Eustace flops into a seat across from her.

"How're you?"

"Pregnant. You?"

"I'm--"

Blink.



"Right, I think you and Lucy just do this to see the look on my face."

Which is starting to grin.

"Possibly," she says.

"It's a very amusing look."
