(no subject)

It's been almost four months, in Ambergeldar, since Amy came into the bar. Four rather tiring months, really, spent criss-crossing the country so she could be introduced to a populace. But that all ended last week, in early October, almost two months early, and she's back, looking about for her friends.

The slight curve to her stomach could be the result of the fashion of her dress, or even a trick of the light. But given the way she's smiling . . . it's probably not.

Amy is back. And she has News.

"Ah- tea, yes." Wellard blinks, then looks at her.

"I'll go get it. You should... probably be resting. Or something like that."

"Well, its..." Wellard flails at her, hands motioning towards Amy's midsection.

"Its certainly no problem for me to get the tea."

Not quite a lot of sitting going on, at least until Amy gets back, and then Wellard relunctantly takes a seat.

"But... aren't you supposed to be resting, and... and such?"

"-If you do say so." Wellard eyes her, but Amy does seem fine, and...

Well, anyone would know more about this subject than he would. So it is more than possible that she is right. A deep breath, and he nods.

"Four sugars, and cream. ... Thank you."

"... oh." Oddly enough, that explanation actually does work as some reassurance, and Wellard relaxes. Slightly, at least.

He picks up his tea cup, and manages a faint smile.

"Things rather keep busy and interesting, around here. People coming and going."

Just the pause needed to figure out how to answer that question may be answer enough. Wellard gives a faint, humorless smile to his cup of tea.

"Captain Jack did find his way back to the bar- with his ship as well. The Pearl is out on the lake; we're working on repairing the damage. Then, someone else I know, he- he rather left the bar."

[identity profile] politestpirate.livejournal.com 2006-08-30 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Wellard nods slowly.

"He- he was dead, and... I guess he rather thought it was time to go... where he was to be going."

[identity profile] politestpirate.livejournal.com 2006-08-30 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Wellard takes a careful sip of the tea.

"... I do not quite know."

[identity profile] politestpirate.livejournal.com 2006-08-30 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, he was helping me with designing the ship- the ships from his own world are quite close to the sorts I know, so... it was rather easy for us to figure thing out, even if the terms were different." Wellard shrugs.

"-of course." Wellard blinks, nodding. "I do plan on finishing it, though at the moment I'm helping Captain Sparrow repair his ship, instead."

He smiles a bit wryly. "Quite the same techniques for a good portion of it."

"Oh, no- it will fly." He smiles faintly. "That's quite the idea behind building it- there's a few things we're doing to it, that wouldn't let it sit well on the water, really."

"Ah... The Kraken attacked it." Wellard frowns, sighing quietly. "If you've ever heard of such a thing. The ship is rather tore up badly."

[identity profile] politestpirate.livejournal.com 2006-08-31 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
"The Kraken is supposed to be big enough to drag a whole ship under, Amy." Wellard bites his lip, thinking.

"So... it would be able to tear it to pieces as well, I would think."

"Ah. He seems to be quite alright." Wellard nods, carefully.

"He is here with his ship, so that... is one thing, at least."
