The sounds of Apollo and Starbuck's good-natured arguing float down the stairs before they're seen clattering down to find some dinner. Two muns, two pups, tag one or both.

He's going to have trouble keeping his hands off all that skin. Skirts are easy access, after all.

Sit down, Lee. If we're going to have dinner, you should do something other than hovering, staring at my legs.

He sits down though, grinning like he just won the lottery.

*She grins back at him. She likes knocking him on his ass occasionally*

You realize you're going to have to dance with me later. So I can make up for the last time.

"That sounds like the best idea I've heard in a long time."

He likes it when she knocks him on his ass, it proves she cares.

*Nah, just proves she likes where his eyes go when she wears skirts. She forks up the amazing jambalaya and hums delightedly*

This is great. I never get dates like this.

"Maybe when we get back, I'll take you over to the Cloud 9. I think they have a casino in there too. We could drink and gamble and frak, and who cares if they talk about us?"

*She grins, but it's a little bittersweet*

Right. I'll put it on my schedule.

"You do that."

He grins, forking up his own dinner.

"Though I doubt the food will compare to this."

Probably not.

*She doubts the company will compare to this*

All I have back on Galactica is the blue dress I wore for Colonial Day.

"It was a nice dress."

There are a lot of memories that go along with it though.

Yeah. I could...y'know, maybe buy something new on Cloud 9.

*She knows she'll never get the chance, but it's...interesting to dream about it*

"That's a thought. I'd have to win some money for it though."

Just because he rarely beat her at triad doesn't mean he's not still good at it.

You don't have to buy me clothes, Lee. You don't have to buy me anything.

"Maybe I want to."

Maybe he'll buy her a ring. Who knows if he'll ever actually give it to her though.

Well, Lords know Adamas do what they want when they want to.

*Zak had given her a ring and insisted that she wear it, whether or not she said yes. And she had worn it and eventually she had said yes*

He's terrified that she'd say no, which means he'll probably wait until it's too late to ask her. But for now he smiles.

"Most people do what they want, when they want. It just varies how successful they are at it."

Right.

*There isn't a time that would be too late. Unless...she knows that when they go back she'll lose him and if she, or gods forbid he, dies, then it'd be too late*

"Hey..."

He reaches across the table to squeeze her hand.

"Smile, it's a good day."

*She does smile, she can't help it*

Yeah, it is.

*She eats more jambalaya and contemplates sneaking a couple bites of the cake before she's done with the meal. It's not dessert after all...*

He grins back between bites. He still can't believe how lucky he is sometimes.

*She's starting to sink into depression, but she's trying hard to keep out of it. If this wasn't so finite...But she keeps smiling and uses her spoon to try the cake. And groans orgasmically over it*

His face turns an interesting shade when she makes that noise.

"I think I'm getting jealous of the cake. Enough of that and you won't have any need for me."

So true...Lords...

*She offers him a spoonful*

He takes a bite an rolls it around on hid tongue.

"Mmm... It's... alright."

He can still think of one or two things he likes better though.
