Once Kara got out of the cells and only kind of bolted for the Door, she couldn't get back to the Bar for a few days. She was sort of surprised she missed it, but hey, here it is. Coolness.

First things first - she leaves a long overdue note with Bar.

I turned myself in and did cell time for the fight in the woods. You don't have to, because I worked that out with the girl who took me in, so I'm hoping that you're satisfied with that.

I know it probably won't matter to you, but I am sorry. I hope you're doing okay.

After that, Kara heads outside to study for Claire's math quiz. One small, blonde, cross-legged levitating girl in an entirely seasonable crop top and shorts is hanging out by the lake as she pours over her mostly borrowed notes.

This, she reflects, would probably be easier if she'd ever taken a test she could remember before that didn't involve hitting things with cars or identifying the silhouettes of weaponry.

Distractions will bring her grade down, but she'll be grateful anyway.

"I used to know that shite, but it's like with letters. They move." It makes him want to bite things. Spoon doesn't use pens if he's got an option, when doing maths. Ink tastes nasty.

"I've been asking everyone," she says, shrugging, "It was mostly just randomness on my part. But anyways, how are all your various people lately? Phil's baby stuff coming along all okay or whatever?"

"Things are good." He assures her, "Phils is doing alright, mum and da' are thrilled, and Ace is living with us."

"Oooh, she moved in?" Kara says, eyeing him up with a grin she thinks is knowing. "Yeah, things would be good." Nudge nudge, wink wink!

"Yeah." Spoon says with a grin that makes Kara's attempt look as innocent as a baby's. It's positively filthy, that grin. (Hint: Don't ask about dessert.)

"Soooo," Kara says, bumping his shoulder, "Cats and dogs, living together. How's that working out for the two of you? I totally demand details."

...So the next couple minutes, or until Kara cuts him off?

Filthy. Detailed and filthy.

...Ace and Spoon are kinky.

'Kay? 'Kay.

Kara puts her hands over Stepan's ears protectively after the first few sentences, because he is way too young for this kind of talk.

Kara, on the other hand, is so not.

"Nice," she's finally compelled to interject, nudging him, "Dude. I did not even know you had all that in you. Total points for originality and - don't you even get tired?"

Stepan, if he understood the purpose of this game, would inform her that he and Rasia hide under the bed during all this. "Neither of us sleep much." Spoon informs her, "And it's a great way of working out nightmares."

"I'm gonna have to take your word on that," Kara says, still attempting to preserve Stepan's non-existant innocence. "I mean, I kind of have the world's most overgrown boy scout in the world as my guardian, but still. Dude. I am very impressed - and she sounds like she is too, soooo...yeah, 'sall good."

"Haven't had any complaints." The man says smugly. Very smugly. Rar.

Ohohoho. Kara smirks. "You're totally spoiling her, you know that right? Spoiling her out of her mind."

"...Duh." Spoon says after a minute, "Making sure she never, ever, ever thinks about leaving me. Wild one, me kitten, got to make her believe that I'm the best ever."

"Well...you totally are," Kara says, nodding, "So I think your plan is working. Smooth, man, very smooth."

Spoon considers himself a half-mad, half-feral, half-man. Not a proper man at all, in any direction really. "Fuckin' hope so. Love her more than breath."

That's utterly okay with Kara. Proper men tend to be kind of weird and awkward to talk to. "Which sort of not really but I'm gonna say brings me to my next point," Kara says, "D'you want a set of signal watches - or not watches, because whatever - for you and Ace and anybody else you want? They're, um, well I've just been thinking lately that I should make sure I can - I don't know, help out? And that'd be a way to actually do it because I can't keep track of all those different heartbeats at once and anyway it's always kind of awkward to show up when people are just upset but don't want me around so these watch thingies are sort of like pagers for emergencies and - I mean, you know. If that's not being too forward or whatever, I could get a set. For anyone you want to give them out to." She's only kind of expecting him to give her the weirdest look ever and say she's being stupid.

He's quiet for a minute, then nuzzles her hair, "That'd be wonderful, Kara. I'd like that a lot."

Hair nuzzling?

...okay, yes. Yes hair nuzzling.

Kara hums and leans against him. "Awesome. I'll get right on them, then. How many do you need?"

"Mum, da', Ace. Three." He says, then tilts his head, "And me, I suppose. Four? Is that too many?"

"Nope," she says, brightly, "Not at all. And of course you get one. Um, how good is your hearing, actually? Like, how high of a pitch can you pick up? More or less than a wolf?"

"Pretty damn good in human, a hell of a lot better in wolf. Not as good as me nose." He says, "It, uh. Might be in me files? But I can't read them yet."

Kara frowns, slightly, and twists her head on a weird half-impulse to nuzzle his shoulder before twisting away again. She's going to start doing this canine body language thing with humans soon, probably.

"I'll pitch it really high, then," she assures him, "Because it's all screechy and kind of annoying and I don't want it to bug you."

He doesn't mind the nuzzle. Spoon does this with pretty much everyone he's comfortable with touching. "I'm pretty sure I've heard worse, lass. Whatever you get will be fine with me."

"Still," she says, glancing up at him, "And, um, I have sort of an idea with that. I figure I could set it up to go off if the wristband breaks, because, um, if you're changing shape without having enough time to take it off then I would be right in assuming that's a situation where I should show up?"

"...That's a really, really good idea, lass." Spoon says, "Really. D' you think you can set it up so that if one goes off it'll alert the rest of them? We're rather like that, we are."
