Atton is outside, training.

He has a dozen or so floating targets, like dartboards, zipping around him very quickly and firing stun bolts down at him from tiny holes at the sides. It's very obvious that he cobbled them together from various machines.

He's blindfolded, and he's alternating between throwing knives at them with one hand and shooting them with another, while dodging the stun bolts. Judging by the bright, chirpy green flashes and the heavy blaster scoring and multiple knife marks on and immediately around the bullseye, he's doing quite well.

He may be grinning from ear to ear, because it's reassuring to know that he's not helpless without the Force.

Gavin can't stand being outside right now. It's cold and no matter how many layers he puts on, he can't seem to get warm.

But he is at least happy to see Atton about. Which is why he stays lurking behind a tree despite the cold.

Atton turns his head to one side, muttering a word that makes the targets go dark and float way.

"Is that you, Gavin?"

Gavin rolls his eyes a little at that. Force users have a tendency to be mildly disconcerting like that.

Weakly, "No?"

"Nice try." Atton laughs, pulling his blindfold off and wandering over to Gavin. "Isn't the weather great?!" he sounds so very enthused about it.

"No!" Gavin shakes his head quickly as he grips the sleeves of his tunic. "Atton, this weather is sithspittin' horrible!"

Pout.
"But the snow is really nice. And it's nice and chilly."

"Chilly is kind of the key word. It's cold."

"What's wrong with cold?" Atton asks, sliding an arm around Gavin's waist. "You can wrap up when it's cold, t'get warm. Short of stripping, 's not much you can do if it's really hot."

"But that's comfortable," he protests, leaning against Atton. "This isn't."

"Heat isn't comfortable. Heat means loads of sweat and itching and humidity."

"I find it comfortable."

And clearly, all weather must conform to Gavin Darklighter's tastes.

Atton sticks his tongue out at him.
"I should visit your time's Tatooine sometime. Does it have more than one settlement?"

"Yes," he answers, clearly indignant.

"Hey! It only has one in my time. And that's only been there for, what, ten years? Fifteen?"

Gavin makes a face, scrunching up an eye and shaking his head. "That's just spaced."

"A lot can happen in four millenia, Gav." Atton grins. "Hey, I could meet your family! Or ... actually not, that'd be scary."

Gavin frowns somewhat. "Why?"

His family isn't all that scary. It's just kind of big.

"Because they'd be all "So, what are your intentions?" and stuff."

Awkwardly, "I could just introduce you as a friend. If, um, it'll be easier and, um, yeah."

"... Well, what would you want t'do? I mean, if y'think they won't hate me on sight and stuff."

"They don't exactly know about you," Gavin admits, scratching his goatee before moving to his head. "I just... it never really came up."

"... Oh. Okay." Atton says, frowning.

And now? Now Gavin is confused. "Okay?"

"Just thought y'might've mentioned me." Atton shrugs. "Want t'go get a drink?"

Gavin shakes his head, still confused. "How would I explain you?"
