There are quite a number of brightly colored plastic things all over the floor in Milliways. We're talking, easily thirty of each four types of manipulatives.
All
Over
The
Floor
You have not even SEEN a mess before you have seen the way a toddler can mess up a room with a bunch of tiny plastic toys. As for the toddler in question, she is planted somewhere in the middle of the mess, playing with the toys. She is still wearing the shirt with names all over it (BOO! being the prominent one) and the house shoes that jingle and sing. Every once in awhile she'll wiggle her feet and either jinglejingle or "If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands" can be heard. And next to her is a pink adult sized throw made out of what is possibly the softest material ever.
Oh the fun she's having.

sneakilycarefully to Kate as she heads upstairs. She waits about two seconds after Kate's disappeared at the top of the stairs and theeen? She hops down off the barstool and oh, look.. there is a almost naked, very pink and sticky Boo runnnnnnnnnnnnning towards the other side of bar with a high pitched squeeeeeeal!
no subject
"'ay! 'aif!" He calls after her, chewing quickly as he moves.
no subject
Of course, if the area around where she disappeared is exaimed closely, someone might notice cake crumbs and pink hand prints sort of..all over.
no subject
Or not. But the hand prints and crumbs are pretty hard to miss.
"Boo?" He calls out, now that he's swallowed the cake. "C'mon out. Kate's gonna be back any second now. Don't want her gettin mad at you, do ya?"
Not that she would be of course but it'd be kind of nice for Bill to have Boo with him when Kate does come back down. It would certainly help with the proving he's not a complete screw-up.
He tries to follow the hand prints and bends to look under a table.
no subject
And thus? She ignores said line of thinking.
There might be the noise of straw slurping coming from... is that behind Bar?
no subject
He sighs and starts looking for more hand prints. That's when the slurping sound catches his attention.
It takes him a moment to recognize and identify it then he smiles and edges over towards Bar, following the sounds.
On the other side of the counter he waits until he's pretty sure he's got her pinpointed then leans over quick and looks down hoping to catch her.
"Gotcha!"
no subject
There is a cup with pink hand prints on it and what appears to have been a milkshake there.
But there's no Boo.
There might be giggling coming from that direction though.
no subject
Well, the milkshake and hand prints prove he's getting close at least. And he hears giggling so a Boo must be around here somewhere.
Following the laughter he tries to be sneaky and sly in his pursuit.
"Hey Boo, where'd ya go? Don't you want anymore cake an ice cream an stuff?"
no subject
He miiiight notice that the prints and crumbs seem to be vaguely leading toward the back door.
And that the back door has those hand prints all over the place.
And that the door is slightly ajar.
Perhaps naked Boo decided it was time for a bath?
no subject
When the trail leads him to the open back door his jaw drops.
"Oh, shit." Forgive the lapse into profanity but Bill has just lost the toddler he'd been watching after all of five seconds!
"You didn't go outside. She didn't go outside." He says, pulling open the door and giving a quick look back and forth and then closing the door and doing the same on the inside. "She didn't go outside. She couldn't have gone outside..."
He opens the door again and steps out, "Boo? C'mon Boo, no more games. Okay?"
Shit. Shit. Shit.
She went outside! Bill knows all about outside and all of the VERY BAD THINGS! that are out there!
Leaving the door open he steps out and starts searching like mad for her hoping she didn't get any farther than the porch.
"What the hell am I gonna tell Kate?"
no subject
It's hard to tell which direction the gleeful noises are coming from, only that they are coming from outside.
no subject
"Boo! Hey, come back!" He calls out, looks one way, then the other and picks a direction and heads off in it quickly.
"Stay away from the bunnies Boo! An don't mess with any cookie dough you might find!"
Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.
no subject
Yeah. That's gonna happen.
The gleeful noises miiiight be coming from the vague direction of the woods.
Or perhaps the lake?
It's really hard to tell. Everything seems to be echoing.
no subject
And abandoned Bill cake, a sure sign of Something Ominous.
Then she'd heard what she thought was Bill's voice through the open back door.
So now, she's stepping onto the porch and looking for a certain toddler and a certain sheriff.
She wasn't even gone for ten minutes; they couldn't've gotten into that much trouble, right?
no subject
"She better not be set on fire. Or drown. Or lost. God, what if that tofu thing is still out here?"
With this positive thinking Bill steps into the tree line.
no subject
Followed by the sound of Boo squeeees.
Lots of splashing and squeeing.
no subject
Maybe she wanted to look at the fish again.
Kate starts walking toward the lakeshore.
no subject
He dashes towards the lake, pulling off leaves and twigs and hurrying towards the splashing noises.
"Boo!" He doesn't take the time to notice how much fun she's having because HOLY CRAP SHE'S IN THE WATER!
With a splash he's in the lake, sloshing over to Boo and picking her up quickly.
no subject
Her wet and almost naked self starts to flail and kick and squirm and try very hard to get down INTO THE WATERS OF FUN!
no subject
" -- everything okay?"
It's ... obviously not.
no subject
He panics when she starts to cry, thinking that she's hurt and he tries to look her over for injury only she's squirming and kicking too much for him to do it.
"Boo! Wait...you gotta...let me see..." He struggles with her as he starts trying to slog back to shore.
At Kate's voice he looks up quickly, slips on an algae covered rock, and falls into the water.
Somehow he manages to turn so he's landing on his back with his arms up, holding Boo out of the water.

no subject
"God, Bill — "
She takes Boo in her arms so Bill can sit up, and starts checking Boo over for scrapes.
"It's okay, sweetheart ... Bill, are you all right?"
no subject
"She okay? I'm sorry Kate! She got away from me an I couldn't find her and she came out here an is she hurt?" He wipes water from his face and tries to catch his breath back, looking over Boo with worry.
no subject
"Wad'r iisss!"
Wigglewiggle.
DOWN!
"iisssss!" Whiiiiiiiiiiiine.
