Its been raining for the past week in Nottingham so Will beams with gratitude when he finds a door to the Bar.

After a few moments, he is stretched out on a couch with hot chocolate, soup and his cloak drying by the fire as he feels dry for the first time in days.

(OOC: Mun is here, but might disappear to go play with nieces and family so consider this open until it falls off the page.)

"I was thinkin' thet . . . wal, thet I might like tew shew yew some thin's. Cuz ef I were tew git hurt, an' no 'un knew, et might make thin's worse . . . yeah."

He fidgets, and it's suddenly obvious that he's really just a kid, despite his size.

(Now, sure.)

"You all right talking in front of Will? He's trustworthy." Guppy asks. He won't deny the kid his privacy, but being still pretty soggy he's not moving from the fire unnecessarily.

Plus he may be able to help translate the accent.

Will gives a nod and relaxes a bit,

"Guppy's a good soul an a fine physician."

Wilbur nods.

"I'm nawt sure ef et matters--I came here by dyin', dunno ef I kin be hurt. But I'm still physical, sew I probably kin."

He flushes. "Um . . . I don't suppose yew gawt a doctor's awffice, dew yeh?"

Guppy takes that as a no for talking about it in the bar in front of Will. Oh well, it's not like he's as wet as he was. He gets up.

"I'll be back if you're staying around Will, get a hot drink on me?"

Nodding to the tall guy. "This way. What's your name?"

"Wilbur Whateley."

(Sure, sure.)

"And you say you're dead, but you're worried something will happen to you?"

He shows him through the infirmary into the office, and offers him a seat.

"Wal, yew never know . . ."

Wilbur looks around the office, fascinated. He's never been to a doctor before.

"That's true." Guppy says. "I'm listening, what is it you want to tell me?"

Wilbur sighs. "I'm . . . wal . . ."

He thinks a moment, then undoes the top buttons of his overcoat.

The skin of his chest is closer to alligator scales. Several tentacles peek out, as fascinated as the rest of him by the office.

Guppy thinks of another approach...

"Were you like this when you were alive?"

"Yeah." He sighs. "My Father es en Outer Gawd, yew see."

"An outer God?" Guppy confirms, struggling with the accent somewhat.

"Ayuh." Wilbur grins. "Yew've heard o' them?"

Guppy comes back to Will when he's finished talking to Wilbur.

"Clearly I'm not putting my sign up often enough if people are having to seek me out when I'm soggy." he says with a small smile.

"Wish for somethin' warm to drink?"

[guppy_sandhu]

"Yes, please."

Guppy hesitates, then asks.

"I think you were busy, but did you see me talking to Teja at Life Support?"

"Aye, I did."

[guppy_sandhu]

"Did you see me, um, get upset and walk off?"

Guppy gets a tea from a waitrat, and sips it.

"Nay, I didna, what 'appened?"

[guppy_sandhu]

"He... he was the one that told me I should be ashamed of being scared of stuff. He practically called me a coward. I... I couldn't stop thinking about it, you know what I mean? And... I realised I needed to get a second opinion rather than continue letting it get out of proportion."

Will sits up straighter and is quiet as he thinks about that,

"'is time is more like mine an 'e sees things as a Lord would. Most power comes from who can ye defeat, but tis naught with bein' 'fraid. If ye're na 'fraid, ye're reckless an make foolish choices cause ye think ye can take on anythin'."

Guppy nods. He wishes he'd sought someone out to talk about this rather than getting worked up on it for four days.

"I know... I started feeling I had to prove something, so when one of my patients got in danger I dived in and nearly got blown up. And then I sort of felt that it didn't matter if I was a coward most of the time if I could do stuff when it matters, but I kept thinking maybe everyone else thought I was a coward as well... overthinking, I guess."

"Ye're na a coward, Guppy."

[guppy_sandhu]

"Thanks." Guppy says quietly.

"Being ashamed of myself... doesn't help. It just makes me worse. Makes me do daft stuff..." he holds the bandaged hand up.
