"It's got more vitamins and stuff in it, you know better for me," she said, "I don't know how i am going to down this stuff. I would prefer the morning sickness to this."

This is in all ways horrifying.

"Morning sickness?" says Buffy.

"What?" asked Seras trying to sip at the stuff again and managing to down it this time.

"Like...pregnancy morning sickness, morning sickness?" Buffy is very notably not sipping her smoothie.

Seras nodded, "It shouldn't even happen."

"...Because you're not pregnant." Her tone is hopeful. Hopeful, but uncertain.

"Nope, Scarlet all but confirmed it," she said, "I know she lies and tells half truths, but I know she isn't this time. And then there are the strange cravings for human food."

"But you're a vampire."

Sooooomebody doesn't hasn't heard the news about season 3 of AtS yet. Probably because it's still a few years in her future.

And it has nothing to do with that, this has to do with the Devil.

"I know, I'm dead," she said.

Buffy looks at her unhappily.

"You're a very strange vampire," she says.

"You are a very strange human," she said with a smile, "Anything interesting happening in your world?"

"I don't think that's really comparable," says Buffy, but she very noticeably fails to stab Seras through the heart with a piece of wood, which is like being friendly. She also shakes her head. "Not...really, no. -- I know this might sound weird, but there's no Weetabix in that stuff, is there?" She nods toward the blood.

"What is that?" asked Seras, "Oh the kid is half human, if you wanted to know."

Seras is happy, I mean at the moment it's not like the small conciseness in side of her has done anything wrong, yet.

"I'm not really sure," she admits. And blinks. "I...it didn't occur to me to ask."

She's not sure what to ask next. Possibilities that come to mind: HOW?

Sex.

"Oh that, I was never much for breakfast cerial," she said.

What else is there to talk about? The kitten that was following her and had been in her lap tried to play with her hands. Tiny paws appeared at the edge of the table.

Buffy looks confused. "I mean --" What does she mean? "Wait, is it cereal? That would make sense. Really gross sense, but sense."

Then she notices the paws.

"...Um."

Seras picked Bean up. He's a small 3 month old kitten with black fur and greenish blue eyes. He pawed and kicked at her hand.

"Bean, he's my kitten," she said, "Wanna meet Buffy? On of my friends Angel and him play all the time. "

Her ears don't prick up, but only because they're lacking the necessary muscles. (Unlike Bean's!)

"Angel? You have a friend named Angel?"

"He's bloody awsome! We spar and stuff, it's hard to find people that I won't kill while fighting them," she said, "he's like a big brother!"

She's talking fast now. Bean meowed as Seras tickled his belly.

"One time I fell into a deep pool of water, he had to get me out, I was not very happy," she said, "Do you know him?"

"...I...don't know." Buffy is speaking slowly. She looks like somebody just told in the same breath that Santa isn't real and that he is real, and a zombie, and her next door neighbor. It's a complex facial expression. "What...what is he like?"

"He's a vampire, he can't fly, or do some of the things like the ones in my world can," she said, "Um... are you okay?"

Seras reached out a hand to put on Buffy's shoulder... there just happened to be a kitten attached to it.

"-- Yes." She moves backward automatically; friendly and kitten-petting though Seras might be, she's still a vampire. Also...kittens have claws. "Is he -- um. Tall? Broad-shouldered? Handsome, in an annoying kind of way?"

"Yeah, dark hair, looks like that human guy," she said.

Bean fell off the hand and landed on Buffy. It's time for him to play the kitty version of peekaboo from under the table on her lap.

...He's so little. And fuzzy. Buffy pets him very quickly and then pretends she didn't.

"How often is he here?" she says.

"Time here is funny, you know," she said, "I see him often enough."
