So: two Men in Black, sitting at Bar drinking bourbon.

One of them is growling.

Ganymede is sitting near them, newly. He needs a new reed, and after having procured it and the glass of water to let it soak in, asks for a glass of Atlantean.

He likes it, though he can't drink much more than a few glasses. It is strong, if subtle.

K eyes the instantly recognizable glass (for someone who's been around here for a while).

"Never could get a taste for the stuff."

He glances up at the voice, surprised. "I...it is the only thing that will truly affect me, that the Bar has, my lord."

He's of course gotten quite inebriated from something he drank on Olympus once, but he can't quite remember what it was.

K is intrigued. "That right?"

He puts out a hand. This might be someone worth meeting. "Name's K."

"I am Ganymede, my lord." He's still a bit unsure of the whole handshake idea, but he does so, lightly.

It's worth noting that on a first look, or even a second in some cases, it can be difficult to tell whether he's an extraordinarily effeminate boy, or a tomboyish girl. Given that he's dropped the formal 'son of tros, prince of Troy' spiel, it might take asking.

There is a newbie at the bar. You can tell because she's eyeing everyone who walks by, wondering if they're from an alternate universe.

This is all entirely too Star Trek to bear.

Thus, the glass of wine. It's very good.

Zed would beg to differ with that.

Actually, he wouldn't beg. He'd just barge in with a fuckton of bile.

Fortunately(?), the newbie hasn't had the pleasure.

Yet. She's turned her glance at them, now. They're both a little too prosaic to be true. Annja would guess FBI if she was in the US.

Or if she was on Earth, even. This could be a problem for her instincts.

She's about three milliseconds from a Zed!growl when K decides to show mercy.

"Evening," he nods to the new face.

Zed, mildly disappointed, deflates back to his bourbon.

"Evening," Annja says, eyes hooded behind her lashes. "Sorry if I was staring. These aren't my usual stomping grounds."

There is an old friend approaching the bar with a new addition on her arm. An arm-waving giggly turquoise little addition.

"K, Zed, so nice to see you two."

Zed doesn't grin very often. It tends to frighten people even more than when he roars. But Dot will have to chance that.

K's grin is much less unsettling. "Long time, Dot. Very long time, by the look of it. And who's this little guy?"

Well, we'll just chalk it up to Dot not knowing Zed all that well, aside from the fact that he runs a tight ship.

"This little lady is Mairi," Dot replies grinning back and lifting up one of the wiggling little arms. "Say 'Hi' to Zed and K."

The agents will just get that delighted baby babble, being able to look and see people like this is neat, especially since they don't show up on scans!

Neither Man in Black is going to be found waving back right there in the open, but Mairi gets friendly grins just the same, which is a lot more than most people get.

K turns to Zed. "We're going to have to get Bob a cigar."

Zed grunts, amused.

"And by the way...thanks for the wedding gift." The two agents get a very thankful sideglance as she gets up onto a barstool and a glowing bottle of formula appears on the bartop, right next to a mug of crackly Cocoa. Little miss Mairi keeps babbling happily at both of the agents before getting plied to happyhungry silence sucking down the formula. "What's been new with you two lately?"

Someone else is just coming through the door, holding what looks like a compact mirror. This year's festival is over already, but it was so good it's already hard to let go.

It isn't long, however, before she recognizes her surroundings and happens to notice K. Surely he'll remember the woman with the interesting jewelry, right?

"K, long time no see," Mia says with a friendly wave.

"Hello, Mia!" K smiles. "Has been a while at that. How's your world treating you?"

"Pretty good; the family's on holiday. We went to a festival in Burg and visited some friends. School's also out of session for the festival, so no classes to teach or papers to grade until next week at the earliest."

"Vacations are always good. Or so I hear," he grins at Zed, who squints in annoyance.

"More time for jewelry-making?"

[gorgonfondness]

"Or mongrel hunting," she says. "I think Draco has caught on that I'm selling jewelry. He gave me more than enough baubles and trinkets to replace what I've sold just for my birthday and Valentine's Day."

There's a brief glance at Zed before she says to K, "No vacations? I should have spoken with you sooner. It's not a vacation if you're studying the alien customs of the annual festivals on Lunar."

"From the moment I first came here," Zed growls. "Wouldn't put it past any of the maniacs around here the chance of them taking a bite out of me. And who the fuck knows where they've been."
