So, Anita's been busy.
In the meddlesome, over-protective, annoying way she usually is, but she has been busy.
However, at the moment, she is preparing to step back through the door to St. Louis. She had spent most of the time with her pard and Damian, but had run across Richard a couple of times. Tense, as usual, and the conversation always short-lived. She was always chasing after someone, needing to be somewhere else.
Tonight, though, she's seated in a booth, readying herself to go back to the city.
To go back, tell Jean-Claude about this place, and drag his ass back somehow.
But, before she does that, she's hoping to talk to a couple of people.

"Thank you," she says, lifting it to her lips.
She's trying to be more appreciative, she really is. And if it means she and Richard don't fight because of that, all the more reason to do it.
"How are you, Richard?"

He's trying on his side. Hence the coffee for her.
"Getting used to this place. Alright so far. You?"

Let's see how that news goes.
"He should be here too."

"Going to shock him and make it a surprise or tell him before you bring him?"
When his tea is lowered and set on the table his features are neutral. Shields in place as well, so there's no leak of what he's feeling.

But ever since he heard of the arrival of the infamous Anita, he has been eyeing all women new to the bar with some suspicion.
Tonight, with this female stranger, he might yet find his mark.

She orders a cup of coffee from a passing rat and looks around the bar, grateful when the caffeine arrives.

She hasn't met many people yet, and she's really not a people person, so she makes no further overture.

"Greetings."

"I'm always tense. Part of the job," she says, leaning into him.

He nuzzles her, content with his mate. He might flirt, and tease some, maybe even sleep occasionally with someone else, but really...he loved Anita.

"I'd hardly call it saving the world," she laughs, following Micah to the couch.

He spots Anita, considers for a moment ignoring her, then decides he cannot. Moving elegantly between the tables, he approaches, taking her hand and bowing to kiss the back.
"Good evening, cher."

"Asher," she says. "I was... hoping to see you."
She can surmise by his lack of glowering at her someone has told him about her decision, be it Elizabeth, Nathaniel, or Damian.
"Would you mind sitting with me?"
Look, she's even trying to be polite, offering him a watery smile.

"Damian told me what you had decided, yes." Very diplomatic, today. He does not want to jeopardise the freedom he and Nathaniel have won back.

She may have realized her mistrust of him was completely personal and petty, but she hadn't really gotten beyond that.
