So, Anita's been busy.
In the meddlesome, over-protective, annoying way she usually is, but she has been busy.
However, at the moment, she is preparing to step back through the door to St. Louis. She had spent most of the time with her pard and Damian, but had run across Richard a couple of times. Tense, as usual, and the conversation always short-lived. She was always chasing after someone, needing to be somewhere else.
Tonight, though, she's seated in a booth, readying herself to go back to the city.
To go back, tell Jean-Claude about this place, and drag his ass back somehow.
But, before she does that, she's hoping to talk to a couple of people.

"So you are a were-leopard, also?" Teja says.

"No. I'm just... their Nimir-ra. I'm a necromancer."

Among all the things people had told about this woman, they had failed to mention that she is an evil witch that will raise and command the dead.

Yes, very much so, from what Teja had heard. Still, he fails to see what would make this woman so desirable: unless she has some secret force of attraction that he, as a lover of men, is utterly oblivious to.
"It must be much work," Teja says, deadpan.

And she'd gotten used to that life.
"I manage it like everyone else does."

Much less manage the lives of all around them, from what he heard.
"And many manage barely, but moan much," he adds.

She only really complained about her lot in life when she was feeling particularly sorry for herself, but with the trouble constantly assailing her, she knows those moments aren't very frequent.

Unless there was nothing to do -- then, Teja would readily give in to melancholy; but that only drove him to silence, not complaints.

"I'd like to think it's what most people would do."

She sounds more sensible than he had expected, so far.

She gives him another nod and picks up her coffee, sipping slowly.

At least he knows what she looks like, now.
