A very cracky entrance post

omg Nita bling bling.

She enters through the lakeside door and snags a table and a soda, pulling off her grey sweatshirt to reveal a black T-shirt with the words "PLZ HELP I AM TRAPPED INNA BAR" in white on it. Hey, it's not her fault, she's getting all her clothes from the Bar. . .

Kim looks over and grins. "Hi Nita. Nice shirt."

Nita looks down at it and snorts. "Yeah. The Bar -- or, my Closet -- whatever -- has a sense of humor."

[OOC: Actually, I have to disappear, right now. Sorry. Slowtime?]

"The Bar has a definite sense of humor."

"I shudder to think what kind of chaos will be unleashed in here April first."

Kim puts on an expression of mock fear. "Oh no, not April 1st!"

Nita grins at her. "I just think it might be safest not to order anything from the Bar that day."

"Or go near the Bar. Actually, staying in one's room all day might be the safest bet. Or...planning your own pranks."

[nita_callahan]

Nita laughs. "Yes. Prank-planning. Mind you, it'd have to be something more than a Kick Me sign on someone's back. . . And you'd have to be careful not to do anything that might annoy the Bar."

Kim thinks. "Hmm. Well, we have a few days. Although there's been so much actual trauma that I'm not sure 'fake' trauma would be any more fun."

[nita_callahan]

"Mm, good point." She shrugs. "Still. I'll be on the defensive."

"So how are you?"

[agirllost]

"I'm okay. How are you?"

[nita_callahan]

"Pretty good. Living here is kind of relaxing. Though I can see it getting boring real fast."

Kim nods in agreement. "That's why even anti-social people are forced to make friends."

Jack's sitting at a table nearby, trying to read, but every minute either looking up to see if Audrey's arrived, or if Christine Chappelle is barrelling toward him after Ryan's told her the news.

Instead, as he looks up yet again, he sees Nita approaching a nearby table. He moves over to her table as she sits down, and gives her a smile. "Hey, Nita. How are you doing? How are you finding being Bound?"

She smiles back. "Hey. I'm pretty good. Being Bound is, you know, as expected." She gestures to the sweatshirt. "I've started running, just for something to do."

"Yeah, I think that's the most difficult thing about being Bound; trying to find something to do with the time. Any clues yet on why you're Bound, or does it just seem like the bar's sense of humour?"

She shakes her head. "Nothing yet, but as long as I'm here, I'm trying to keep some track of what happens. I think I'm one of the few wizards from my world who's spent a lot of time here."

"What, like keeping field notes?" he asks, only slightly teasing.

[nita_callahan]

"Yeah," she grins. "There's a little bit in the manual about here, including the coordinates, but nothing useful for repeat visitors, like 'The Bar has a sense of humor' or 'Death doesn't work here.'"

"Or, if someone you know shows up, start worrying." He's still smiling but it's slightly brittle, and doesn't quite reach his eyes.

"I don't know about that. . ." She blinks, and tries to phrase the question tactfully. "Did. . . someone you'd rather not see show up?"

Emotionally, he pulls back a bit; he doesn't want to start laying all his problems on a teenager; he needs to seem natural. Not easy when he's stressed, but he's managed it before, and with people who know a lot more about looking for weaknesses than Nita.

"No, just the usual problems with the people that are here. I think we've all just been in too close a proximity for too long, without any break from each other," he says, careful to keep his tone light.

"Ah, gotcha. Y'know, I can't believe I haven't asked this, but -- are you Bound as well?"

"Yup, I'm completely stuck at the moment. Can't even see the door. It'd be nice to just get out of here for five minutes, but I guess the bar isn't quite willing to do that yet."

"Yeah, the lake is a poor substitute for actually getting out of here, but it's something." She smiles. "A cold something. I thought New York winters could be bad. . ."
