She had quite a time, as I recall.

*He winks at Megan.*

Say, since she is about, as well as Ingress, Sunny, and Gavroche, and the other mobile children in the bar, I've been charged to deal with an evil puppet menace. Apparently, there are puppet creatures making short work of a goodly number of the bar's patrons.

*He is grinning as he says this, but if the puppets are truly a problem, he will handle it.*

"Oh, I think I've had a run-in with them", Liam says, not noticeably joking. "One of them bit me and Charlie."

They did, did they?

Hmmm... clearly they are either evil entities or inanimate objects animated by Dark magic. What did they look like?

"I only saw it very quickly, but it was... a puppet. About yay big, button eyes, black thread face."

*Tom nods, listening carefully*

Right. I want these things taken care of before they hurt one of the children.

"They move fast", Liam warns him.

*Tom takes out his wand and twirls it*

I guarantee you - I move faster.

*Oh, such a smug grin...*

Liam chuckles.

"Well, best of luck with that."

How long are you two here for?

"About another week. Staying with Charlie."

He's well? I've not seen him in quite some time.

Liam's smile disappears.

"He's... better. Did you hear what happened?"

*He grows concerned.*

No, clearly I haven't.

Liam starts to answer, then stops abruptly, looking at Megan.

"Um."

*He notices the glance.*

That bad, eh? I could cast a Muffling charm so little ears couldn't hear what's being said.

Liam nods. "Please. I don't want her hearing this."

*He casts the charm*

Now, what's going on?

Liam takes a deep breath.

"Okay. Last weekend, someone from the island came in and tried to take Seth. Some of us stopped him, and we locked him in my old room overnight, because there was no one around with access to the cells. The next morning, Charlie went to bring him down to security and he knocked him out and escaped back to the island." He sighs. "A group of us went after him to get him back, for everyone's safety, and when we caught up with him... he tried to brain Charlie with a rock and Charlie shot him in self-defence."

Ah... I see.

Most distressing events.

That gets a wry grin.

"Yeah. Just a bit."

I'm terribly sorry to hear. Is he not handling it well, or does he simply need time?

"Time, I think. It would help if Bartleby was here."

I wonder... if he's ever coming back? I hate to say it, but perhaps he's been detained. For good.

"Yeah. I'm not saying so to Charlie, but I have to wonder too. It's been two months now, and no sign of anything."

Well, do please give Charlie my regards. I know... how difficult dealing with something of this nature is.

*At least Charlie killed someone in self-defense*

And thank you for the information about the puppets. I ought to go now, but perhaps I'll see you later.

*He smiles fondly at Megan and waves*
