"Aye, I've been trying to tell him that, but he's got his hopes up for getting a baby before the end of the year."

"You know, even successful adoptions take time. I'm not sure nine months will be enough even if you're approved..."

He nods and scowls a bit.

"That's exactly what they told us from the start. And we're a difficult case for so many reasons. He gets his hopes set too high sometimes."

"Is he going to be okay if it doesn't work out like he's hoping?"

He shrugs.

"All we can do is wait and see."

He grins down at Megan.

"And spoil you while we wait, Princess."

"I'm surprised Amadeo hasn't carried you off yet."
