*Tim is seated at his usual booth, perched on the edge of the chair. His arms are wrapped around a rather thick iron staff with a clawed end. It's new, but already he likes it, despite the weight. It adds just enough mysitcism to the three piece suit, blended nicely. For some reason, his cards are on the table. They just felt like coming out. So, if you want a reading, a flying lesson, or to just talk to Tim, feel free.*

"He is a dwarf though. I suppose." He could be normal sized for where he's from, for all she knows.
no subject
*A shake of his head.*
Nevermind.
*Tim starts to pet Magic behind the ears.*
Yup, a dwarf from middle-earth.

"So what is it?" She asks as she eyes what looks to her to be a large, oddly shaped curtain rod.
Magic accepts petting gleefully, her tail thumping the floor.
no subject
Tis a staff.
no subject
She eyes the curtain rod that evidently has pretensions.
"Thought they were supposed to have a knob on the end?"
She may or may not be serious.

*He winks at her.*
Besides, once I have power back, the prongs will be easier to fill with energy.

...
It is entirely possible someone gave Ace soda. Bad whoeveryouare. Bad. No cookie for you.
"Playin' solitaire, or are you getting messages of doom?"
no subject
They wanted to air out some, apparently.

I'm used to having toys with minds of thier own. Baby ring a bell?
no subject
"Didn't know she was a toy."
no subject
*He bites his lip*
But when I built her, she didn't have a personality or a real mind actually. My spells tend to grow sentience. I used to unintentially do it to my toys, so my toy soldiers would actually fight for me....

Oh well.
"... Suddenly, I feel sorry for your da."
no subject
*He shakes his head. the way his dad was... he wasn't a good man.*
no subject
"... He doesn't seem the type." And here she thought she could spot them a mile away.

*Tim is staring at the Window.*
Me mum... Supposedly, she died in a car crash. Same one that cost my da his arm. I've seen some evidence that she was acually Titania in a disguise, but... I dunno. It sent my dad into a downwar spiral. All he'd do was drink and watch the telly. Only time he'd pay attention to me was when the TV was awn the blink.
*A snort.*
I started thinking of Awn the blink as a real person. A friend of mine, who helped my dad see me. I met him several years later, created by the power of my imagination. Nice guy.
no subject
"Yeah? Never met him." Which she thinks is a shame.
Could have used him.
Even when there was only static coming through, there usually wasn't anyone sober enough or present enough to notice a young Dorothy.

*Tim shifts uncomfortably.*
Gwen helped out a lot. And the fire. He got burned something awful in a fire sent by someone who wanted to make me into a disciple of the cold flame. The doctor managed to help him quite a bit. And then my mentors gave him the arm back he says....

But, in order to find out, she'd have to actually care.
So, looks like she'll never know.
Good riddance.

Her new family is worlds beyond her old one. She wouldn't go back for anything.
"So how do these things work, anyway?" Ace picks the first topic she can find, ready to move on. "I get the face cards, I think, but what about the numbers?"
no subject
*He's fine with the subject change.*
no subject
"Only if you explain the whys and wherefors." She grins.
