"It's just great, thankya," she says, positively beaming. "I'm really enjoying it.

"But there's a slight problem. It appears the door has returned for me."

"...Okay. Well." He sighs. "You know, it's funny. I've always seen the door." He rubs an eye.

"D'you need to leave?"

Her smile becomes a little sadder, tinged with regret.

"I'm afraid so. My man's waitin' for me the other side."

"Okay." He sighs. "You gotta do what you gotta do. Can't guarantee this particular job'll be waiting for you when you get back, but I'll try to keep something open for a while."

She nods understanding.

"That's quite all right. I'm sorry I couldn't stay any longer. I really enjoyed my time here.

"It must be hard keepin' long term staff here with people comin' and goin' all the time."

He laughs.

"It can be. But I try to hire Bound patrons, when I can."

"Good policy," she observes, "except for when they become unBound."

"Well, yeah. But you can't not hire someone because of that."

"That's true."

She pauses for a second, then grins brightly and offers a cold hand.

"Thank you for hiring me, Bernard. I really enjoyed working here."

Bernard shakes, his smile faltering at how cold her grasp is.

"Thanks for working here. Hopefully I'll see you again."

"I hope so too," she says with a bright grin. "It sure is a great place, this. I'll miss everyone."

With a final smile, she heads towards the door.
